Can't talk to greybeards
I finally reached the greybeards on the mountain but they don't talk to me. When I entered the castle they all took a fighting stance against an invisible foe and I couldn't speak with them. Since I left the castle again four of them (one of them is the one I should talk to) are standing a bit downhill, faceing the hill in battle stance.
It started earlier, when I was in the village at the bottom of the hill. I talked to a farmer and suddenly all the villagers took battle stance. I thought there was maybe a wolf or something there and ignored it. Also I could talk to the guards and the pilgrims on my way to the hilltop normally. But now I don't know what to do.

I am having this same problem. Can you tell me what mods you have so we can compare and figure this out. If you've already fixed it please let me know how because I can't find another post with the same issue on google. I've played through this part with no problems before so it must be some new mod I installed but for the life of me can't figure out which one. Thanks!

Just figured it out, it's caused by 3DNPC. It's been several months since you posted this issue so I'm assuming you figured that out already but it will be nice for anyone else having the same problem to find this solution.

Hello,

My solution was to load an old savegame. This way I had to replay quite some of my progress in the game, but the problem didn't occur this time.

Thanks anyway!

I had this issue because I used a cheat that added all spells to the player, which included ones learned from the Greybeards. It broke the scripting and so they just sorta did their own thing.

I have several spell mods and non of them cause this issue. You should list which one caused it in case someone else has the same problem. It can take quite a while to troublshoot mods and cause a headache. It's easier for people to search for solutions online or on steam and compare mods they're using to mods that cause the problem.
