Hired Muscle Companion quest bugged?

I've seen on a few other online forums and a couple of YouTube videos about some work around for this issue, but I was wondering if anyone else had any idea as to weather the Dev's might be working a fix for this?

The Quest: Farkus sends you to Solitude to brawl with Xander someone or another and teach him a lesson without bloodshed.

The Bug: You arrive to find Xander on board a ship and when you talk with him he'll say, "You're not supposed to be here." I waited an hour at a time for 24 hours outside trying to see if he'd leave the ship ever... he did not.

The so called "Fix": Attack or pick his pocket, he and all his shipmates will attack you. You run out of the ship and up the road towards the solitude guards, they will give chase and shoot at you the whole way. Once there you put away your weapons and pay the fine. You'll be put in jail and have to fast travel back to the docks quickly to catch Xander on his way back to the ship. You can then talk with him and brawl thus completing the quest (if you win the fight).

An easy Dev Fix: Place some nets or a few chairs on deck of the ship and have the crew come out of the cabin every few hours to get some air and maybe work on the boat. Thus when Xander is outside he would be available to get his butt kicked by those of us players who get this quest.

Anyone know if the Dev's are still working on this game at all or has all the attention shifted over to ESO?

Yeah...Just got put into bethesda purgatory with this as well.I'll try your "fix".Now if I can just remember to save first...

Uuuh...Christ.I tried that "fix",the first one.Could not get back to the boat to catch the dude outside.Jesus man...after all this time this game is still screwed up.Very frustrated with them.

Just did a search on g**gle.IF you can leave via the door of 'Red Wave' WHILE he is saying "You're not supposed to be in here...",he will follow you outside and you,in theory at least,will be able to actually engage him in diologue and beat the crap out of his milk drinking self.
So...We will see.
