Bug with the black books and teleporting back to Solstheim.

They just don't work. I click on them and in both instances of using the black books to get back to Solstheim I get a message about not being able to focus on reading the book at that time and I'm just left sitting there. I used "coc whiterun" to fix it the first time but I'm feeling like if I do that again with the book after killing Miraak that I will miss out of some sort of after teleport event like a dialogue with someone or something. So if anyone else has had this problem and they know how to fix it please let me know.

Same problem here after reading the Winds of Change black book (onPC). Can't get back to Solstheim. Every time I try and activate the book or pedestal that says "To Solstheim" after choosing my perk, it says I can't concentrate on reading it and I remain stuck in creepy bookworld.

From UESP.net, "Step into the black water in Apocrypha. When you lose all your health in the game, you'll be transported out of the book." Worked for me.

It's not broken by game standards. Anyone that has a problem with this used something to break it. then using a console command, you broke it further by putting yourself outside without triggering any of the things that require the conditions for getting out on the rest of them.

That's peculiar. I've managed to go back with three different books so far. But then again you can't trust anything from old Herma Mora.

@tex3000 I haven't used any console mission commands at all and it broke. Other people are experiencing it as well (hence the uesp post). The only mod I'm using is Crimson Tide, which doesn't affect mission/quest structure at at all. Also after defeating Miraak, I can clear my skill trees to reclaim skill points, but viewing my skills don't have any extra skill points to spend. Not the first time there have been problems/bugs.

try going back to a save before opening the book - happened to me just now with special edition and it worked for me
