Unable to ride Sahrotaar in Dragonborn.
HELP!!! i am unable to ride the dragon. I go to mount the dragon, it goes to the mounting scene and the dragon lifts off and flys away, but I'm still on the platform. I'm hovering in mid air, in the mounted position like I'm on the dragons back. It goes to the turitiol menu and the audio goes through its play, but I'm still on the platform. After a minute or two the dragon comes back, so I use the Bend Will shout again, but the same mounting problem occurs. I tried reloading a previous saved game, but the problem still happens. HELP!!

Have any mods that might alter the dragon skeleton, like Realistic Ragdolls and Force? If you do have RR&F, update it.

If not, check to see if the Skyrim / Data / Meshes / Actors / Dragon / Character Assets folder has a skeleton.nif file in it. If so, delete it. See if that fixes the problem.

If neither of those things is the case? No idea.

Again, how do you access those folders?? The majority of people in the world do not have a Meshes folder in Data.

Explained it to you last time you asked. The "majority" of people use Nexus actually,
and would have those folders. Your avatar about says it all.

also see:
"If neither of those things is the case? No idea."

Anyway OP. Hope you're one of the people the info helps.

If you use Nexus then you can just download the unofficial dragonborn patch, that fixed it for me

Just to add... if that doesn't help, and if the patch doesn't help, there's another possible source: any mod that changes your own animation, like FNIS. If you use that, there's anouther file you also need to delete, in the meshes folder (male>default) if I remember right.

Edited to add: for me, both the skeleton nif and the above were issues. If its FNIS causing the problem, you'll be in a standing position when floating, in my experience. If it's the skeleton, you'll be sitting.

By unpacking the BSAs, with a utility like BSAopt.

Thank you to one and all. After much much frustration, I found that the problem seemed to come from the Legendary Dragon Mod. I simply deactivated and reactivated it down the track. The only setback is I cant ride dragons unless I use a different Dragon Mod.
i get the same problem, but i don't have any mod installed, excepted the official DLC, dawnguard, hires textures, hearthfires and dragonborn. i unloaded DG and HF, but same problem happens again.
just to confirm that this fix works for me.
Skyrim / Data / Meshes / Actors / Dragon / Character Assets folder and delete the "skeleton.nif " file.
thank you Cruentus
bye

Okay sence ill assume you mod i had same problem but i use fnis how i fixed it was i installed creature pack and updated the dragons behavior files through the tools function. So if you do or did have any creature mods under no surcomstances should you deinstall creature animation through fnis because it does and did kill dragon flight command.
