Problems with sprinting (self resolved)

I've seen other problems with animations, but mine is with running. When I shift back to third person, my Dragonborn runs just fine and responds to the various key presses correctly. When I switch back to first person mode, they refuse to run more than a second before continuing along at a the normal movement speed.

This works as described no matter how many times I switch between the views. Third person works correctly; first person is broken. I've tried quitting and restarting, but nothing is working. Has anyone else hit this one?

EDIT: I finally figured it out. The game was confused and not showing me sneaking. My target wasn't the sneak mode, and in third person I was clearly standing up. In first person mode, the game suddenly though I was sneaking which is why it refused to let me sprint. I suddenly realized the problem when standing by a companion and realizing I had to look up at them. Two quick taps of the CTRL key and it was fixed.

I got killed last night and when the last save loaded I had the same problem. it's been driving me nuts. I'm about to load game. I'm willing to bet this solves my problem. Thanks!!!!!

I am still stuck in a sneak animation, and ctrl will not change it. Further, shift slows me down to a crawl. This happened after getting killed by the Bleakfalls boss. Restarting game does not help, either. Any ideas.?

I'm reading this 6 years too late i've never gotten the chance to play Skyrim because my brother had it on Xbox 360 but wouldn't let me play it, so this post is helping people 6 years too late. Historians from the future will look upon this post and it will help them resolve their running.

It's weird to still get a 'thank you' comment now and again. Of course, not everyone played it immediately when it was available. Others either played it for a long while on another system or just never hit the problem.
