Where does Skyrim Saves go?
Is there a place where Skyrim puts its saves on the computer ie Minecraft.
I'd like to make a copy for a seperate location to save for multiple characters. Or maybe a mod for it? I am sick of saving over saves by accident .__.
if there is a mod Nexus or Steam workshop works I use them both.

Go to the Steam site and click on file and Backup. You can then save to a location of your own choice.

Wrong advice - the backup thing is part of the Steam client. Anyways, your saved games should be located in the following directory:
%UserProfile%\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves
If you can't find them, try searching for *.ess files.

I don't have any Save folder, but I have saves in the game. If I don't have any save foler, then where my saved games are saved at? XD

Check your documents folder, or your game folder.

Oh. Yes yes. I found it. Previously I was checking wrong folders XD But the bad thing with this game... I was playing as a Female Nord and reached level 26, had good stuff, and now all of them lost, because I started playing again with a Male Nord. I tried to restore the Save folder to a previous version, but unfortunately for me there was no previous versions of my Save folder. Bethesda sucks right? Can't keep a lot of autosaves XD

Who would use cloud for such an error prone game?

I've done this before, and it has worked flawlessly. You just need highly organized folders and saves.

I have it all default. I never really ran into errors outside of mods.

There is that problem with Bethesda that probably will never fix and possibly kept the same way and for Special Edition, is that the autosaves replace previous autosaves and don't create a large list of manual saves or autosaves. Now I have a different question. If I select a save and then copy paste it into one other folder or and on my desktop, then if Skyrim after time replaces that save with a new one, then the copy that I would have made will be deleted because of the replacement?

That is how most games, at least the ones I play work with auto saves.

From what I recall I made a save and moved it into a different folder. Played a different character, and when I went to play the older character again. I made a new save, moved it, and then moved the old character into the save folder. It may or may not work anymore idk. this was years ago.
