Magic menu desktop crash

hey there,

i just got to a point in the game where whatever i do, if i want to open my magic menu, it just crashes to the desktop without any error message.

i can do whatever i want. i tried all the tricks. new spell learning, no buffs, no eating, fast travel, sleeping/waiting, loading new games or old saves. openening the menu with the "p" shortcut and so on.

anyone knows a solution for this issue? i dont want to redownload skyrim :P

delete your data folder and then verify

this will basicly take all night. but since i tried everything else, i will go for it

Use a new save file [ie start over]. If it doesn;t crash, then your save probably has a script embedded that is dependent on one of the mods you deleted.

Maybe its not up to date anymore but I actually had the same problem after installing some spell mods. Every time i wanted to open the magic menu i instantly got to my desktop. What fixed it for me for any save was to type the psb command 3 times (maybe not necessary but since it worked and i am too lazy to figure it out i always do it this way) and the resurrect command (my character as target). after resurrection i can make full use of my magic manu again.

Mine would always instantly crash when I went to my magic menu, I used the command 'psb' ( Player SpellBooks - Maybe you have to many magic mods ??

PSB is NOT a safe console command and is known to crash your game. This is VERY clearly listed on all of the major skyrim wikis because it causes this problem.
It unlocks unstable spells and major issues. If you are having an issue with your magic menu, you are better off figuring out what caused it instead of using the command. Typing psb multiple times does nothing as it is a true false, not on or off.
Please do not advertise psb as a fix, and it is not.

This happens to me when ever I try to play as a Khajiit.
