Lydia's missing
I got one of my characters up and decided to try the marriage thing, see what happens with the quest and all. Being lazy, I decided to marry Lydia, the ever-trusty Whiterun housecarl. I go through everything, gettting the amulet, asking for her hand, et cetera, but right before the ceremony ends and I'm still listening to the Priest of Mara, Lydia walks out of the temple, as does everyone else. I got the Ring of Matrimony, but Lydia is nowhere to be found. Ran all over Riften, Whiterun, Dragonsreach, and even Breezehome; can't find her. Where could she have gone? Did she leave me at the altar or what?

Best thing that could of happened to you! Just use console commands to move her to you, Go to her wikia page and find her console code etc.

Where did you decide to live? Spouses do go off and leave you after they get married. Maybe they are eager to check out their home.

If you fast travel there, remember Lydia will be walking! So if you dashed off home she's still on her way.

that's what hapened to me! i searched everywhere and decided to take a trip to the temple of mara (where you got married in riften) and there she was. what a waste of 10hrs looking for her.

Oh Lydia...

It didn't give me any options or decisions as to where to live, but then I only have the one house, Breezehome in Whiterun. Plus as far as game time goes, it's been about a week and still no sign of her. I've been back to the temple a few times looking and she's not there either.

As far as the console command thing goes, I'm reserving that as a last resort. I'd prefer to try and find her in game, but if it turns out that she's glitched or something, I may have to use that.

Thanks for the replies! I'll double check everywhere again. Wish me luck!

I don't have any DLC, just a few random mods, so I don't think that'd be the case. However...

I found her! I checked the suggested spots to no avail and then remembered Roscaria's comment "remember Lydia will be walking" and set off to walk from Riften to Whiterun. Finally caught up to her in Helgen, fighting a gang of bandits. Looks like I picked a winner ;)

Thanks again for the replies everyone!

Well now you two can live happily ever after, and you'll be able to go and fight gangs of bandits together :')

Nothing says, "I love you" like running off to take the lives of your enemies. :P
