You can play vanilla, like I did with the enhanced edition, but the unofficial patches make things much less risky and prone to breaking.
Not necessary, but some mods do need it to function properly.
I know this was necro'd, hard, but I'd like to weigh my opinion on it as well.

Actually that "Nothing else" is debatable
I mean it does add some new stuff too , beds in Ragged flaggon , meat pies , collectable glazed candles and dwemmer urns etc.

Lack of rooms with beds in ragged flaggon was really a bug?
The Unofficial patch does not add anything to the game (unless it was intended to be there but was not placed, or if it was unintentionally removed by one of the DLCs) - though Arthmoor's Cutting Room Floor mod does.

EDIT - This is from the Frquently Asked Question - BUGS page:
"What constitutes a bug?

A bug is defined for our purposes as a defect in the game that can be factually proven to be broken. This can be anything from a quest that won't advance a stage when it should, to a typo in a book, and pretty much everything in between. Some judgment is used for issues that are more cosmetic than functional, such as the lack of heat blurs on smelters and forges. The game will obviously function just fine without those, but they constitute unrealistic visual presentation."

So, if you see urns added in, or extra beds, or collectable glazed candles - those are not from the patch.

This has all been posted repeatedly all across the forum ad nauseum. Players who do not use the Unofficial patch do so at their own hazard - if you do not use it and you encounter a problem in the game, there will be little we can do to help.

And here is where I take a page from Nazenn's book (quoted in post #42):
"All future posts of this nature will be ignored as I have no desire to be endlessly repeating myself, or to ask other [knowledgeable] contributors ... to do the same."

This room is not from vanilla its from USLEEP:

https://i.imgur.com/x4C6IWx.jpg urns and glazed candles (tho granted they are restored not added as new items per se but still its from USKP and they are added to some npcs inventories and scattered around ruins in places they never been there before)

meat pie new item added by USKP for reasons unknown was lacking a meat pie ingame a bug?

Any questions?

EDIT: https://i.imgur.com/FiN7no0.jpg this also puzzles me why they added these?
The appear ingame to have same model and texture as regular "gloves" (aka gloves that miners wear)

No npc wear those but you can buy them from clothe shops.

I can confirm USLEEP adds things. Its changelog is riddled with mesh/texture replacements, -additions and outright changes.
And when it comes to the Meat Pie: the unpatched game referred to this item when given, but the Meat Pie didn't exist. They first renamed the Apple Pie, but later reversed the switch and added a new item called Meat Pie.

So that was the reason for adding meat pies?
Oh boy good thing they didnt apply same logic to Shadowmere cause Astrid refers to it as Stallion but Lucien says Sahdowmere is a mare.. could you imagine if USLEEP team decided to do some "mesh changes" to Shadowmere? :steammocking:

Give up.
You need to check the code, your img dont prove anything.
You also need to take them in same angle etc.

There are so many things that are supposed to be there and not to be there.
And the only way you can find it and figure it out is to check the code, that I suspect you have not done.

And yes, the Ragged flagon has rooms added for the NPCs Dirge, Vekel, Delvin, Tonilia, and Vex.

Those replacements were to fix issues with the original meshes being bugged or improperly rendered (gaps, bad UV errors, misaligned meshes) - they did not actually change the object to look different from what was INTENDED (emphasis added).

The meat pie was an item left out that was intended to be in the game.

As to Ragged Flagon, I just checked the change log and cannot find anything that refers to the change indicated (though it is possible I did not see it) - but a dramatic change like that would not be something that USLEEP would make (unless that wall was misplaced and was not supposed to be there in the first place, and was, as a result, blocking access to that room- in which case it is a bug fix.)

And there are no mods at all in your game? And none were ever installed and then removed?

It is possible that I am wrong, but the stated purpose of the Patches do not cover adding things in or making aesthetic changes - so i would really need to see verifiable proof such as form IDs before I would accept that such a major change was made or that Arthmoor was being less than honest in stating what the intentions of the patches were (if this can be provide I would of course stand corrected and would apologize - provided it was not as I described: a MISPLACED wall).
This, from Arthmoor:
"We will not make any changes that require the editing of landscape data due to the high potential for conflicts."

As far as myself and all the other reliable forum regulars are concerned, this is a dead issue.

Still ignorant i see
didn't even bother visiting the ragged flaggon with USLEEP enabled and disabled.

And its there in changelog is there you just need to learn how to read.

Dirge, Vekel, Delvin, Tonilia, and Vex will now have beds in a new room attached to the Ragged Flagon, down a new passage to the left of the door to the Ratway Vaults. This room will also improve as expected with the guildhall itself. (Bug #12618)

Either your ego is too overblown that you can't admit that i'm right or maybe you're just a troll

Yes, after over 5000 posts and helping inumerable people, I am a troll because I asked for evidence of the change, which I would actually like to see so that I don't make the error of assuming something is wrong just becuase I was not aware of it. I would appreciate if you could provide the Version number and date wherein that is listed.
