I don't remember getting a key, i just remember that after she takes me up into the air and tells me what to do i canget into it after i am back down on earth
if u found the light anywhere, i found it in a medow west of whiterun tord solitude but a little lower almost on the middle garded by giants at there camp, anyway it took time for me to get back to earth but once you do you go down the steps and the enterace will be below the shrine just follow the concrete to the bottom to the door and then go through the temple and continue simple, thean you have to go to second floor at one part with the walkways that have cages, you go to open the egg and then go to second floor and the door will be open then go through a hall way then go explore the second floor and finde another than jump down and go through that door and the rest should be simple than at the end there will be a few imperial demons and a mage that i still cant beat but i know thats the end once you open one last egg or lightbulb or whattever and than i dont know the rest but that should be the end.
First of all, I suppose you are referring to Meridia's Beacon and that you are somewhere in the Kilkreath ruins/temple/catacombs.

Many doors in that labyrinth are marked as requiring a key to open but guiding the light from Meridia's beacon is actually the way to open them. None of them (as far as I can remember) need a "physical" key to open. To guide the light, you have to activate pedestals. Once a pedestal is activated, it opens a door and you can proceed.

In order to help you, please be more specific as to where you are in the "dungeon" so I can figure out which door is actually blocking your way.

On the other hand, there are many walkthroughs on the internet and if you google "Kilkreath", you are bound to find something that will help you.
I know what you mean, that's the door you use to exit the dungeon. There's another door really close, but I don't remember if it's above or below that one. It is the dawnbreaker quest, right?

All of you have been alot of help and i am on the task to complete this quest Ty to each of you with your knowledge and imput.
Well i had completed sky in the ruins and even the quest marker has taken me to the last spot. i went thru the door opened for me there are some gates that have chest in the back but no way to open those. when you first enter there is a door but its after you go back outside and enter another entrance that i am guided to a door with a dragon head on it that states this door requires a key. I found the spot west with the giants of whiterun and dies so so many times until i had hired help and ran fired my bow ran and fired and had my help in one location for a ambush and finally killed two giants my first in the game. but no light in this camp.
It sounds as if you have TWO quests active. Merida's quest has NOTHING to do with Whiterun giants.

Go into Journal and down to Miscellaneous Quests and across. Check to make sure none of these are marked as active.

Merida's quest The Break Of Dawn should be the only quest marked as active.
You say...

"...after you go back outside..." I guess you mean Kilkreath Balcony
"...and enter another entrance..." I guess you mean Kilkreath Ruins
"...that I am guided to a door with a dragon head on it that states this door requires a key."

If I understand correctly, that's the door you need to open to get to Kilkreath Catacombs. Like all other doors, it doesn't need a "physical" key. Guide the light by activating the pedestals and you will eventually open the door. Now, the room you are in is quite large and has more than one level. There is a lot of things to do before the door will open. I found this video on YouTube where a guy is navigating this room and opens the door to the catacombs. I hope it will help you.

Exactly what link says, No key is needed you just need to keep the light moving from room to room.
The video says so much ty for it
I'm outside in at the balcony. I'm standing outside the Kilkreath door. I have guided the light up to that point, I can see it. Yet, it says I require a key to open. Is there some override to this?
better make your own new thread, rather than reviving old ones...

didnt do that mission for some time, id suggest to read up on it on the UESP site... good infos and they will mention possible bugs and glitches in the bottom area of each page.
