Ugliness of Elves
I'd like to make this a petition to what has come to my attention the most in Skyrim: the ugliness of Elves. They look like damn goblins. Elves are supposed to be hairless, slim sexy beings that make us think that Lorkhan's purpose for humans was a slave force for the elves. The devs need to fix this for the next Elder Scrolls game man! Because of their hideousness, I didn't play as an elf. Call me shallow, but it is what it is. Looking at screenshots from the Elder Scrolls Online however, you can see that they're nowhere near as ugly as they are now. They look quite sexy. So I don't know why I made this post.

Do not confuse yourself with other Elves from different stories and lore, the Elves of the Elder Scrolls have always look like that, ALWAYS. and unlike most other games, there is more than one or two races of Elves, so stop slaming your opinion of how ugly they are, that's silly.
If you want sexier Elves then why play this game at all is beyond me, everyone has their opinion of how someone or something looks, but that doesn't mean you should post something and say its "ugly" that's just your personal opinion, not fact.

There are enough human types (Nords, Imperials, Bretons, Redguards) which apart from skin tones are all basically alike, so I guess Bethesda wanted to create something distinctively "other"

Personally I'm glad they didin't just create humans with pointy ears. Whether you like their appearance or not, they're certainly different.

If the vanilla look bothers you that much, thats what mods are for. I don't like the look of those modded elf types myself, but each to their own

As for them being ugly, well thats in the eye of the beholder isn't it? To them the OP probably looks butt ugly.

Devs seem to have got it right for Elder srcolls online. Not over the top, aesthetically perfect creatures and not ugly mofos either. http://elderscrollsonline.com/en-uk/media/videos/653

Humans with pointy ears. Great.Glad to see Bethesda not caving into demand to "prettify" their elves. /sarcasm

Seriously, how LoTResque was that? She even resembles Liv Tyler.

Playing ESO right now, that must be the cinematic you must be thinking of? They really dont look like typical humans though, still elder scrolls elvish :P

I'm not sure Sumerset Isles is any less third-worldish then Skyrim. Reading some of the books about province it sounds just as dismal.

Judging by their weapons and armour they're technologically much more advanced at least

Yeah, I'm super late to the party... and the elves are still ugly (in ESO at least).

I'd like to play a wood-elf, but I can't bare to look at the character that much. haha

The part that cracks me up is that the elves in their videos look NOTHING like the elves in the game. If they truly felt that ugly elves were the way to go... they should be consistent.

Get etheral elven overhaul.
Also there is a race mod called epic elves, but I recommend some fantasy graphics first like an enb or the imaginator.

Since when are elves hairless?

Well, I mean they have hair on their heads, but they represent I guess, a more "advanced" humanoid species? They don't require hair or any other "mundane" features. Kind of like comparing us to apes. We're nowhere near hairy as them. Also, in Eragon, the second or third book, he's takes a bath with an old dude and he notices he doesn't have pubes. So I'm just assuming.
didnt dark elves in dnd have facial hair?

I like Skyrim elves, I'll honestly say that they are my favorite representation of the fantasy race. I was honestly tired of the same cookie cutter elves in games up to this point. And to continue on the subject of change to races Orcs finally got to looking badass and not like a green retarded ape.

if you want ugly elves play Dragon age 2 apart from merial and fenris they look like ♥♥♥♥
There's nothing more sexy than a Khajiit with a fine ass :kitteh: and a swishy tail...
