Anyone else think Morrowind is boring?
I tried out Morrowind and found it tedious to do any of the quest. The gameplay felt like a chore for me. Plus there's no voice acting. I had to read through all the boring dialogues. However Skyrim felt much more fun and immersive. I don't understand how Morrowind is so overrated. Anyone else feel the same way?

Wait till you see Dagoth Ur who almost 90% of the time glitch and fell down the cliff, and he's supposed to be the end boss. Oh and he's a naked guy with a big ass mask.

Or the broken faction system where despite you getting the Ordinator armour legally, the Ordinators will kill you on sight if you are seen wearing them. So much for being their GOD reincarnated.

Don't get me wrong, I used to play it for years, but many parts of the game are broken. Like the Master Skill Trainer guy they forgot to put in the game.

I hated the whole rolling system... Each time you "hit" a monster you felt the dices falling, deciding wether you hit it or not. This resulted (for me) in dozens of missing strikes in the beginning, which was just frustrating as hell. I cheated a lot there and later began to appreciate the game. I really liked all the things I could discover, all the stories I heard and became part of. Bloodmoon was the best and I still like the werewolves there better than those in skyrim. You felt like you really had power being a bloody furball.^^ Not to mention you could help building a city (which you will visit in Dragonborn again). I'm anxious about what it is like, now.

No? But it's not for everyone, it requires a lot more patience. It's also 10+ years old...

I actually like / prefer the limited voice acting as you can have more varied dialogue. Don't mind reading, either. Can understand why some don't, though. I hear that Skyrim game is pretty good :)

As a die-hard first-person shooter fan I am not a patient man. I wanna get in on the action and start killing monsters. Probably why I hated Morrowind, the gameplay was too slow for me. But I love Skyrim so much. The story with dragons and dragonborn is interesting and the combat mechanics are fun in Skyrim. I'm just disappointed about Morrowind, it just didn't live up to the expectation I was hoping for that everyone was praising about. Because people say it's the best Elder scrolls game and it just wasn't for me.

agree with stabby: your just spoiled with the advanced graphics of skyrim, can you imagine what the graphics for video games will be in 10 years?

At least you didn't try to start first as an Unarmed Unarmoured monk without magic. That was a pain.

omfg^^ I think you have to be at least a bit crazy to do this. :D

@West: He didn't say anything about the graphics. I think it's clear that a game this old hasn't got the same optical advantages as skyrim. He talks about the gameplay, what I can totally understand. It was really a pain at several times, even back then. And just to have that said: On release, the graphics of morrowind were the most advanced, or at least I heard so.^^

On release: "Look at this water! *-* Woooooow"
Now: "Look! Sheogorath covered the whole ocean with cling film!"

Remains an all time favorite, a steep learning curve for those unfamiliar with the system used for skills etc... best of the series, all they need to do is make an TES with the depth and story telling of Morrowind, within the beautifully rendered splendor that is Skyrim .

From what little I've played it, it's a great game for a traditionalist RPG player - its very old-school (it would be hard for it not to be), and more cerebral. However, it's not a dynamic action game with awesome graphics - the graphics, gameplay, and combat are highly representive of a mid to late 1990's or early 2000's RGP game. Not to say it's bad - it's just a totally different animal then Skyrim!

yes and back then the media wasn't able to store as much information as they do now, Im quite sure if they were to remake Morrowind with todays technology it would trump skyrim.

Yes! If they do a remake of Morrowind I would probably buy myself a copy of that.

Yeah, I'd even like to see the previous Elder Scrolls titles modenized thou I never played em. Tried once but they didn't run anymore... Maybe we get a game someday, where we can access all of Tamriel. :3

Perhaps it would be better than Skyrim, or perhaps it would merely be Skyrim in Morrowind. Or, since they mostly "blew up" Marrowind, maybe they would just call it "Dragonborn".

Ice.&.Fire - like the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online, but not a MMO?

And play through as the same character?
