Fire and Ice are invisible.
My Skyrim does not have any fire or ice appear. This can be casted from other characters, from my own character or fired from a dragon's mouth. My character can select spells and hold them in his hands ok, however casting beams from fire or ice will not apppear, the same as shouts - No shout will load, unreleting force simply makes my screen ripple. The Helgen attack at the beginning simply had Alduin roar at people and they'd die. I was unaware that Alduin had even set me on fire until my character had groaned in pain and his healthbar drained suddenly. I have the game on PS3 and know how these partacles should appear, however they do not. If a fire is static (An object is on fire) the graphic will load fine, however torches, shouts, casting and spells do not appear. I have ajusted my graphics settings from highest to lowest, however nothing fixes the problem. Has anyone else encountered this bug and fixed it?

- I have no mods installed.
- I am running on a secondhand Dell Inspiron 530S (Not any form of gaming computer)
- I have both Hearthfire and Dawnguard installed.
- I have 3GB of ram on my harddrive (I am unsure of what portion of this is allocated to the game)

These types of bugs/glitches are often related to installation issues, not that you've done anything wrong, but the process itself often has problems and the updates sometimes ruin the stability of the game, especially when it counts to sound and graphics! A badly positioned file is enough to end up in situation like this! I'd recommned reinstalling the game! It should solve the problem! I've done it and it corrected a lot of bugs in my game!

Uninstalling the game does not fix the problem, I've tried it. Anybody have any other ideas?

Maybe the Unofficial Skyrim Patch mod will fix this for you?

Where can I find this?

That didn't fix it either...

I'm just hiding from you... just kidding.

I had this once for a random reason in the middle of a game and after I deleted some mods, changed graphics and restarted the game, it was gone... Think it was due to not enough memory. What graphic card do you have?

edit skyrimprefs.ini and check under [particles]. iMaxDesired needs to be above 500, it defaults at 750, I think.

If BoPackers tip didn't work (Yep, Default is 750), I googled a bit and this might help.
