They should have kept morrowinds entire magic system and used that as a base for the new spells in skyrim, the actual magic of morrowind is pretty shody thinkin back but the schools being proper schools of magic not just another list for some more spells, the spell making was the best had so much more freedom than what you had in oblivion (i have to make these comparisons concerning enchanting and spell making i dont know any other game you do either) same goes for enchanting.
But i could over look all of these, i could over look it still using oblivions engine and i could over look it being a bit broken in places if they just kept stats. perks.....why, level up add stat, perk form skill hitting 25,50,75,100 like oblivion had. that was fine.
It comes down to personal taste. Some people will prefer Oblivion or Morrowind out of nostalgia, because they got used to a particular type of gameplay or simply because they enjoyed some elements in the older games more than Skyrim. Most people like Skyrim better, because it’s more intuitive, the landscape is more detailed and the leveling system is well thought out.
Personally I feel that most of the criticism is unjust. I like the subtle differences between regions and the natural progression between those regions. The artificial intelligence and character animation could be better, but are an improvement from Oblivion. The quests are standard fantasy fare, but I like the freedom of simply walking around and stumbling into new adventures. Some of the background stories were fun.
Dawnguard was somewhat of a letdown, though. It does offers a lot of really, really nice toys (crossbows - oh yeah!), and I really liked the Aetherium questline, but Dawnguard's Vampire versus Dawnguard questline seemed somewhat lame (starting with a vampire hunter helping a vampire lord's daughter AND A VASTLY POWERFUL ARTIFACT get to said vampire lord's castle - huh?!). Also, I hated the way the vampires kept attacking inside the cities, and always forcing me to attend to the vampire problem first (I prefered how in the main game, you had the freedom to take your time, and finish any questline whenever you felt like, and it didn't matter). Finally, the headquarters of the Dawnguard, (and to a much lesser extent the Vampire Castle), seemed "tacked on" (ok, they WERE tacked on, but Bethseda could have done a better job hiding it). They were both overly large (both bigger even than the College of Winterhold), the design of the Dawnguard's castle seemed "unSkyrimish" (the Vampire Castle seemed ok designwise - it's architecture reminded me of the College's), and the concept of building a huge fortress in a relatively small valley reachable only through a tiny cave seems pointless. You may disagree me - it's just the way I FEEL about Dawnguard - I even admit I might be being a bit too overly critical, perhaps.
So while I think do Bethseda actually did a really good job with main game, I wish they had done better with Dawnguard (I wouldn't say it even came close to RUINING the game, though). Fourtunately, you can alway choose to have Dawnguard either on or off on the PC depending on how you want to play (uninstalling any Dawnguard mods first, of course, if you turn it off). Hopefully, Dragonborn will be better - everything I've heard about it so far sounds encouraging.
I have over 200 active mods lol
1.The main story was a pain i always got mobbed by dragons witch put me off the main quest.
2.I know that changes happen but taking away attributes,Athletics and such but i can see why they took away athletics and acrobatics so you don't go to fast or jump high,I remember going so fast in Oblivion i could run to Skingrad to anvil in 5 mins.
3.(I might be wrong) I remember clearly that nocturnal hated thieves then suddenly thier friends,i enjoyed the theives guild quests but they kind of ruined that on skyrim.
4.After completing the main quest all i get is a "Good work" Nothing no weapons no armour Nothing after all that Trapping dragons,Killing dragons and running away from dragons i except somthing.
There is more but im tired now here is good things.
1.I love the detail of the world its just epic.
2.They fixed how you could murder like somone in a house with no one looking and you would get bounty even though no one seen, thank god they fixed that.
3.Random generated quests so i don't have to wander about when i did everything.
4.I love how you can smith so if you want to smith a iron sword all you need is some leather witch is easy to get and some iron.
Overall there is somthings they could have done better but it is a good game and i hope to ♥♥♥♥ they set the next game in black marsh.

He does make many good points especially the journal and quest markers. I also like that he can tell the difference between streamlining and oversimplification (I hate the terms casual and dumbed-down because they've been abused to the nth degree).

i dont really know what else to say now lol
then look no farther i plan to make a mod that makes you a Dragon Lord after you kill Alduin. (i am not sure if i spelled it correctly)
edit: that was not supposed to happen!
The thing I most enjoy about Skyrim is OPTIONS:
You can be the True Warrior for Good.
... or ...
Any where in between "good and evil" ...
... or ....
Just evil ....
But the main think I enjoy about Skyrim is the VISTA (Scenery). I Found myself getting annoyed at first with all the fights, becausee I just want to walk around and take pictures!! The visuals are GREAT!!
Are there are few things I 'changed' - using MODS?
YES!
I had an overload of Dragon Souls and was slow at getting perks .. ALA .. "TRADE DRAGON SOULS FOR PERKS" ... (Nice! Now I do not have these Dragon Souls Haunting me.)
Then I realized I was at a certain point, worked and earned them, and thought, "Why is my magic not as stable as NPC's? I am 100 on those now?"
So I found a mod that enhanced my Magic - just enough to keep the battles/fights a challenge a yet - I was a 'Master Mage' - (After all I'm the "Arch-Mage" now.
I did think some of the quests were a little anti-climatic at the end. I thought there could have been a little more "TADA!" - I mean, I just saved Skyrim and all of Tamriel from the World Eater ... I mean ... I just went 'where no man has gone before, and returned. (Well except for Mr. Spock. But that is another alternate reality.)
I hate "superman cheats" as I call them. Why play the game, if you are just going to be "Superman"? What is the point/challenge?
Than you can always start over and be any of the other character options and good - evil, weapons only - magic only - both - specific weapons only or specific magic only. A lot of options to 'test your metal'.
