After 15-20 minutes - Skyrim crashes like clockwork with error R6025 (pure virtual function call)
This is a rather new development for me. Game has run for the most part perfect since getting it last year. Right now, I can't run the game for more than 15-20 minutes before it crashes to desktop with error R6025 - Pure Virtual Function Call. Debug and trace information are in a format I can't read to give me more to go on.

If I am running it in full screen when it does this, I have to reboot as it totally takes over the PC. If I run it in windowed mode the game still crashes but at least I can ctl-alt-del my way out to the desktop.

Known issue?

Did it. Afterward, same result. Played 20 minutes. Then it crashed with same error.

You could try reinstalling the C++ Redistributable supplied with the game...

Make sure that you are not missing a script file.

Could it be hitting a ram limit? Once the ram is full it crashes?

Could this[support.microsoft.com] be relevant?

How many "SAVED" games do you have in your "SAVED GAMES" - I've seen people 'crash' if there are more than 4+ saved games. Not surprised either, to be honest, if you realize that it basically saves the WHOLE game each time. Also make sure you have a good disk defrag program. I use, DISKKEEPER 2012. One of the better ones out there. (NO I have no $$ intrest in this software. I just like it.)

Or there could be incompatibility with saved games over the different versions that the game changed through.

yeah I'm thinking it has to do with the save games.

I bet it is the graphics card, same exact thing happened to me with Spore. It turned out my graphics card wasn't good enough which caused exactly what you are explaining to happen to me. Once I got a new one, it worked perfectly with no problems at all. Like I said I had the EXACT same problem. And the new graphics card fixed it, so I bet you it is that.

That doesn't explain why the game has worked just fine for over a year with the same graphics card and suddenly now the card isn't good enough.
Darnitguy 14 DIC 2012 a las 7:51 p. m.
And I also have well over 30 saved games and it works perfectly fine XP

well I guess you have a point there, I had spore not very long, so I would try the saves thing FIRST, before you spend any money on a graphics card, if there are any other suggestions that don't involve spending money you could try those too
