Proudspire Manor bug
Alright I know for a fact I purchased both the living room and children's room... TWICE yet both remain unchanged. Any way to fix this?

edit: It's late so I'll probably have to give this a bump later. I don't suspect many read past the first or second page. :/

Did you check back right away after the purchase? Or did you go somewhere else before checking your house?

Well I fast traveled to Steam Crag Giant camp I believe it's called, then went back.

I'm just going to assume it was a Dirty mod and avoid using or buying the Solitude house from now on. Between that and the Bards college problem It's not worth the hassle.

It's not a dirty mod, all 'normal houses' work just fine, everything works perfectly for me there. Even changing stuff like 'exchange enchanting room for kids room' works very well.

I build a second house and this 1 also gives me problems, i asked the stewart to arrange stuff for me and even though he took my money nothing got added. And the entry room is done but is still available but when i click it he says i don't have the money to buy it.

Actually I did some testing when I fubared recently by DL'ing 15 mods and installing them all without testing in small batches. At any rate I discovered the mod "King of Riverhelm" was the main culprit. For some reason though I still can't get a decorated livingroom despite having paid for it several times.

Children's rooms in city houses are glitchy. I would recommend just avoiding them altogether.

Sadly it's not simply the childroom but the living room of my Solitude house is eternally a spiders nest. It feels like coming home from a crappy day only to be met by a filthy house.

i'm having the exact same problem. the living room is unfurnished even after spending 10,000 gold trying to purchase it. and the childrens room doesn't appear either. both items remain greyed out in the stewarts dialog box.

don't really care about the childrens room not working, but when you spend 30K+ on a house you kinda expect it to work properly :/

Does the steward still offer the option of buying the missing furniture? For a while (pretty sure it's fixed now) the alchemy lab in Breezehome would be offered for sale indefinitely, the steward would take the money and it wouldn't appear. I still always buy it last as a precaution and do a check of the house to be sure after I paid 3 or 4 times with no result once. I had no mods back then, btw, it was the Hearthfire update that did it.

Also, the Windhelm house had some trouble in the past if the butcher's backroom was not cleaned up before purchasing upgrades.

If you can't get it fixed (not cool if you can't), remember that while Proudspire Manor is expensive, it isn't the best in game house. Cheat your money back, grab the stone of Barenziah and move to Windhelm or Markarth. Or Solstheim, Severin manor is a nice house too, if a little out of the way.

ya, they are both still offered for sale. i use the hearthfire houses for my main residences, so getting it fixed isn't a top priority. i've never had trouble with any of the houses before, so this just anoyed me a bit.

I am having this same issue and I don't know what causes it. I have two different characters, both have all the same mods and yet one has the children's bedroom and the other does not, the room doesn't even show in the house, its just a wall with clutter next to my bedroom.

My character is the darling of the Imperial army after winning the war spends most of their time around Solitude, I don't want to have a build a house on the other side of Skyrim in order to house my kids.
