What Do People Think of Skyrim Machinimas?
Hi everybody.

I'm a bit of a film guy and have enjoyed making movies for quite a while. Recently I've gotten into creating machinimas with various games - and I'm thinking of making one for Skyrim. But I was interested in what people think about Cinematic Machinimas in general, just because I've read a bit about how people get pissed off by Machinimas not being lore-friendly, or whaetever.
So what's your opinion on Skyrim Machinimas?

First of all, before I can form any opinion at all ...

What the hell is a machinima?

Young people with their slang .. grumble grumble (swings cane) And get off my lawn while you're answering me, lol.

Hahaha, a Machinima is basically a cinematic video people make.

Who cares what People think?
I like Machinimas, today watched the Iron Man in Skyrim and loved it.
If someone dont like it, dont have to watch it. Nobody is forcing them to watch it, and if for those it was a waste of time watching it and even have to comment it with their garbage, then seriously have to ask themself if dont have any hobbys or dont know what to do with their time.
Same like Mods, there are Lore friendly and non-Lore friendly.. nobody cares about the opinion of the People who doesnt like it, there are People who likes it.

If you enjoy create something, or there is only 1Person in the world who liked it, then it was worth the work.
Creativity have no limits!

and now go! let youre dreams come true! sky is the limit! geronimooooo! ^^
(sry had too much Coke this morning)

You are right - I don't really care what people think, but I was just interested because I had an old Youtube channel that had a moderate following and I used to make Machinimas with another game on there - but I never really thought they lived up to my potential, and since the game didn't have any lore and it was a sim, I was pretty free to do whatever I wanted with it. But anyway, thanks for the support, :D

And one can never have too much coke, or creativity. Hahahhaha xD
From what I've seen, and this usually goes to all games, they just try too hard to be funny. Stupid jokes, stupid humor.. or, maybe just not the humor I like :D

I'd like to see some "epic" machinimas. There's plenty for WoW.

The most important part is, it's made with game's engine. Not every movie you make is machinima.

You mean like those ones all over YouTube where they put movie clips/gameplay to music?

Who the heck doesn't do that any more, and since when do you need permission from us? :P

One of my favourites was one with clips of Severus Snape done to Metallica's "Unforgiven" (and I otherwise don't like Metallica much); of course the audio track disappeared.

I completely agree :D I love the few Epic Machinimas on Youtube like "Battle for Dawnguard"...the funny ones are kind of overrated now, and I'm surprised there's not more serious ones. I'm aiming to make an epic Machinima that involves five of the divines destroying Skyrim...opinions? :P

Hahaha, I haven't seen that O.O I must go look it up! I wasn't asking for permission, I was just asking for opinions :P
Well make up a couple, so we can give our opinions. ;)

And it was a very well-done video, or whatchamacallit up there. Wish I'd have been able to grab it before they took the music out. There's a couple others as well, including one that was just put back up recently (HP again, this time to Abracadabra. Someone named SailorMars something or other has it, or did, unless they took it down again).

Well I'll go searching for the machinimas you've mentioned, and maybe in the next week or so I'll post my own Machinima and get some feedback ;) Thanks :P
I've seen very few story based 'lore friendly' machinimas from any platform. They're pretty much always humour based and contemporary. If done well, it would be good to see a 'serious' piece.
...Gamer Poop haha
