im stuck at killing mirmulnir, the first dragon.

i killed it, and when it says i need to investigate it, i know i need to get close to it so i get his powers, but absolutely nothing happens. i think the soldiers should also be surrounding the dragon, but all they seem to do is fleeing...is this a bug that can be fixed?

That depends on which console commands you use, some are quite harmless and muck up nothing, others cause as many problems as they solve.

A general decrying of console commands is like a general decrying of mods, pointless, there are ones to use, and ones to avoid, but the trick is in knowing which.

If anyone else if having trouble absorbing the first dragon soul for the main quest, I have a very simple fix.

Open the command console by pressing "`" (right beside the 1 key, right below escape key).

Simply type: " setstage MQ104 90 "
Then hit enter. PROBLEM SOLVED!

Congratulations! You have now potentially made yourself incapable of absorbing any dragon soul ever!

Don't use setstage ever if attempting to bypass stuck AI, you can seriously break your game by skipping quest triggers. Revert to a previous save and try again.
