where can i find the quill because i've found a boat in the lack but i can't get at it

There should be a chest at the boat, I think. I am not sure why you can't get to the boat.

Yes I remember swimming all over that lake, before going back and listening to what Maven actually says. The chest is near the boat, but I wouldn't bother. You don't get any reward.(I'd already killed the guy with the debt). You can't use the quill yourself. I just went to her house and tried to kill her. Then I went to her Manor, and slaughtered everyone there.

The chest is underwater on the Lake Floor. It does need a fair bit of searching to find it.

Swim find large underwater rocks straight out from docks to island then swim north east toward shore and riften docks look around as you swim

The boat with the chest is at the exact center of the lake. I recommend bringing A LOT of waterbreathing potions with you, or wearing jewelry with a waterbreathing enchantment, because you will need to stay underwater for a long time.

I swear, this quest is like trying to find a quill of gemination in a riften lake.

There is a boat in Riften and a boat in Goldenglow Estate.The quill can be found more or less in the centre of them both at the bottom of the lake.Look on the lake floor for a sunken boat.The Quill is there in a chest.

I did this awhile ago and cant remember if there was a quest marker or not.I dont think there is.I didnt need any water breathing equipment,just kept bobbing down in the water til I found the sunken boat..Anyway after completing the quest Im still stuck with the Quill of Germination in my inventory.Next time maybe a bit easier if I just to kill the guy concerned and not be lumbered with the quill forever. :)

you have to find a chest, the quill is inside it, the boat hit the large rocks in the middle remember he was returning to Riften so the wreck has to be away from the rock towards Riften look north of rocks to shore (about half way) and drift the current will move you towards the docks

Yes.The quest is completed but the quill is still in my inventory and I cant get rid of it as its a quest item. lol.. No big deal though.

You got to clear the person fine who was bringing it to Maven for losing it This is also part of quest

Yup..Done all of that and still got the quill.

oh this is a fun quest...but it is rewarding in one way....
If you pay off his debt....as in you get this side quest to clear and he is alive....you will run into him later and he will try to help you...thats if you do some other quests later.

Also you will run into him in certain place later where you can hear him tell people about you and how you didnt have to help him but you did.

But for a slight miscalcuation I broke into his hideout(house) and we fought alas he died so looks like I missed the fun later
