I can't change volume with my keyboard wheel in Skyrim game
Can I do for to solve this problem? I can't change volume with keyboard wheel inside game :(

My keyboard is a Logitech G110.

In this moment, I minimize the game for change volume, but when I return the game appear two cursor (Windows cursor + Skyrim cursor).

Regards.

Idk maybe the game locks certian commands from being used to prevent conflict inside game. You can get external speakers with volume control too which u can change at will. I just keep all sounds at max and let my speakers have volume control

I hit shift and tab to bring up the steam stuff and then it lets me change my volume. I just use the volume control my laptop came with but it is the same problem, you could try this.

It is a known issue: just open Steam and your keyboard regains control of your audio suite, allowing you to adjust the volume, change music tracks, and whatever else you normally have controls for.

Skyrim seems to mess up keyboards quite often. Im fairly new to theg ame, but Skyrim sometimes locks my caps lock, so I have to type in caps.

Or maybe you yourself hit caps lock in order to """always run"" hehehe.....when you then leave Skyrim...your cap lock is still on...but the one who gave the command was you :)

ive been playing this game for 2 months now and just randomly have the same issue with my headset and keyboard volume buttons. both corsair. however I believe this and the witcher 2 are the only games that it happens. I cannot really find any related fixes online...maybe i'm not looking that far or maybe there's no fix?

This may fix the problem. Go to C:\Users\"YourName"\Documents\My Games\Oblivion

There should be a file titled Oblivion.ini. open it with a text editor and Ctrl+f bBackground Keyboard. Change it from =0 to =1. This should allow you to change the volume with keyboard keys.

Hope this helps. I know this is a late reply but someone in the future will read this and it will be helpful to them.

I guess you you mean "Skyrim.ini" in "Skyrim" folder so i followed the path specified in the post exchanging Oblivion with Skyrim but, once i opened my "Skyrim.ini" file, there was no "bBackground Keyboard" string :/
Can you tell me under which category this string should be located so perhaps i can add it manually?

Nope, it's an actual glitch. I find that pressing shift again helps, or simply closing/re-opening the steam overlay.

You just saved me from going insane. My mind was slowly slipping when it wouldn't let me Alt-Tab, but this was going to be one thing too many. :steamhappy:

I have the same issue really, not being able to use the buttons on my keyboard to turn up/down volume while in-game, however, simply opening the steam overlay works for me.
As for the double cursor problem.

There is a double cursor fix mod on the skyrim nexus for this, though it doesn't seem to be a permanent or very reliable fix as sometimes I will still get a double cursor.
To fix it then, I usually have to open my steam overlay, alt-tab out of the game, close steam overlay and hope it's fixed, if it hasn';t just rinse and repeat until it works, double cursors seem to be my main blight of this game.
Link to the double cursor fix mod, if you want to try it out: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/36125/?
Also, apologies, only now realising this is a necro'd thread. Oops.
