horse dying while inside cave

so i entered a particular cave/dungeon and my horse died. im using convenient horses so the entire inventory i had on it when it died was moved to my inventory. since i have over 2000 on my horse (ok so i might be cheating a little) and now it was on me i was kind of out of luck. so i reloaded from before entering the cave. i did this a couple times and same thing happened so i just decided the cave was glitched and moved on. it was a random location i stumbled upon so i didn’t need to go in there at that time. i then moved on to another location and the same stupid thing happened. any thoughts?

Why did your horse die? If it was attacked by something then there is a mod that makes your horse safe from attacks, however it also prevents it fighting for you. Sounds to me like your poor horse died from overwork though and you should be reported to the RSPCA :-)

Horses are pretty much useless in game...you have to get used to the fact that you will be losing them more often than using them. I use them because I don't fast travel but I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to be spending a small fortune so I can get to point A from point B a bit quicker. As for having horses carry stuff, if you're going to cheat a bit with that why not look at the "Bag of Holding". That way all your stuff you've collected on your adventure is on your own person.

ya, it died for no reason. even died when i went to my lakewood manor or whatever its call . as soon as i walk in the door it died. i just bit the bullet and bought a new horse. pain dealing with inventory...... horses aren't useless when using convenient horses mod. that's only reason i use tem

The guys selling the horses often tell you their ages, maybe it was just your horses time! :-P

There is a mod called Armored Horses problem solved no dead horse and you have all these great armours on the horses and for all the 2000 lbs of crap you haul around get a house dude just sayin.

since you have no problem using a cheat or two just spawn another horse , or increase your carry weight so you can pack all that stuff till you buy a new mount (I know you can afford it)
