ESC key not working cant go back to options to remap it...

could someone help me? I searched but didn't found anything that works yet, is there a command for default keys?

What is the ESC Key. Maybe I just dont remember it. What does it open? No is there are no commands for default keys. There are commands to give you a key.

escape key...i need it to go to pause mode ingame but i cant exit game

somehow skyrim disabled my esc key so I cant go back to pause and into settings

Well that sucks. Dont know why that happened. The only thing that comes to mind that would work is plug in a xbox 360 wired usb controller. Windows 7 will automatically install the drivers and set the controller to run the game. Then you could use that to enter or pause the game and get into the settings. There may be something else but I cant think of it.

thx for the help, the issue is that I dont have a xbox controller, ill just delete all files from disk and reinstall skyrim in steam, cheers for the help its the intention that counts ;)

mostly people say to try deleting the default skyrim ini file. i believe this is ok and will just get rebuilt, unless you've made tweaks which you'll need to redo. if you're feeling adventurous, you may try to go into the file first and see if you can correct the esc key mapping

Ohhh Yeah ini file. Great suggestion. I remember that how I used to mod a game way back before mods for games came out. Forgot about that one.

(i was already uninstalling and have removed the ini files before seeing those replies) I just could had delete the ini file now i got tons of time waiting, but hey ty ;)

shadosneko on the gamespot site answered it for me. You can get to the menu if you press "J" to get to the journal, then go over to the settings menu by clicking on it.
