SOLUTION for this problem in my instance was to DISABLE UNOFFICIAL PATCHES.
I had this problem especially with Skyrim AND Dragonborn Patches while other unofficial patches seem to work fine.
Hope this helps anyone with similar issues.
I diagnose a case of RTFM plague.
Let me remind those yet unaffected that this plague can be avoided. Just remember that probability of getting the plague raises severly every time you install a mod without properly reading the Read Me file.
For others I write a dose of fukitol. Modders who actually write those instructions can take it as double.
Sorry, spidukka. I am really not directing this to you, but you managed to provide most exellent example of what not to do in the middle of game - even if it works for one bug.
Unofficial patches are fixing bugs from the game. Removing these patches from a running game is a unwise and can lead to save file(s) getting permanently bugged.
My first advice for anyone having problems like this is to open NMM and make damn sure that all your mods are up to date, and you have properly read and understood what they do to your game. If there was "if", "but" or "maybe" included in your toughts, then protect yourself from the plague by getting back to reading those instructions.
My second advice is to remove appcache folder from your Steam folder before verfying files. Close Steam. Remove the folder. Boot your computer. Start Steam and make sure it created new appcache folder correctly. Then verify your files. Steam (like any client) isn't prefect and problems with appcache folder are currently the weakest link around here.
This plague is endemic in video game players now because the games have a habit (especially Skyrim) of telling you what they think you need to know in game and then people think that mods will do the same thing.
I suggest a UESP WIKI search rather than necroing a thread that is 3 1/2 years old.
Start a new thread and they might look in, but with a cold dead thread they won't.
And the best answers are never found by reviving old threads. NEVER.
What do you mean?
Most helpful answers to many issues or general inquiries i found were in years old threads.
Granted i didn't necro them but still not everything can be found on UESP.
