I am really bad about starting new games I just finally have a few characters that I can't get bored with. Oh well maybe time to start with the nexus thing, I could try that mod that redoes all of the skill trees.
You really need to try getting the game to load/run totally vanilla (no mods) first before you start mashing mods into the mix. If you have Steam workshop mods you subscribed to that automaticall downloaded when you installed the game you need to disable those from the Data Files link on the launcher app before you start trying to play the game.
Mine crashes as I run down the road, probably when I get to the end of one area and pass into a new area that doesn't load. It just crashes to the desktop. I have about 20 mods going, and i was about to start unsubscribing one at a time and see if i can get this fixed. My questions are:
Is there any way for someone who is not the author of a mod to get it updated? (If thats the issue).
Is there somehting else it might be? It was running beautifully before the update . . .
I ran that option for skyrim when you right-click the game in Library to re-aquire content (or something like that) and it concludes with a message that "1 file was missing and will be re-acquired" - but it won't say which file! Any ideas??
Thanks to anyone who reads this and thanks for anyone who might have any answers!
Concept was neat..but they have gotten way to stupid....i play skyrim and find steam trying to download or update or do things right while i am playing....
I am guessing that since steam did its own update not to long ago as well....i bet people having issues....will find its mostly steam related....i mean just how many times does their overlay thing need to crash and why the heck does steam keep renaming their own program or worse have to acess registry values?
BTW, you do realize that Steam has very little to do with the game other than being a portal for acquiring and patching the game, don't you? Bethesda made the game, they fix the bugs. If you want to whinge and throw brickbats then do so at Bethesda.
No, sadly you are not the only one that suffers with intermittent lagginess since the last two updates, especially when going from one area to another via a loading screen. It seems having autosave on travel enabled is a big contributor to the lag, I turned it off and the game was not as laggy by a long shot.
