Not Elisif the Fair - she's sweet but a bit wet. lol
Not Ulric - too controversial a figure.
Dragonborn - most definitely, but when did anyone ever get to be King based on skills/talent alone?
Personally I quite like the new guy who has taken over as Jarl at Windhelm - Brunwulf Free-Winter. He just seems a cool, normal guy who wants peace. lol "There is no glory in war. It's just something they tell soldiers so they'll risk their lives".
The dragonborn is allso a helpful person, taking all kinds of odd quest to help the people of skyrim. Solving love mathers? Deliver items to the collag? Returning stolen items, the Dragonborn can be really helpfull, and he/she got excellent speech skill.
When you say it, yes he seems like a cool guy, but I dont think he got what it takes to be king.
That's probably true actually - he doesn't even like being Jarl. lol
I suppose it would be nice if there was an opportunity for Dragonborn to be made king/queen ultimately though. But I'd find that tiresome too! My character is too much of a free spirit!
There are several races in game and many of potential DB will be unable to hold the throne just because of who they are.
Some DB can be not qualified – we may not see it in game, but the lore do show that future kings and queens receive a lot of training in many fields that the DB unable to put perks into ;) Being able to create swords that can kill a dragon in one hit do not translate into the ability to rule a country.
Do you think that the Ulfric/Elisif will step away? Do you want another civil war?
And would you really like to be a puppet king or queen? I am afraid that this can be the logical conclusion if DB will go for the crown.
Some Guilds will be against it, I think.
Some DB will be against it. Politics? Nooooo, thanks.
And besides, Margonian, if the Dragonborn wish to play the game of politics, look at Sybille Stentor ;) May be not as flashy, but she helped to raise the kings of Skyrim and certainly was able to... influence them. And can enjoy her long life without drawing to much attention.
Always was under impression, that DB like all of the TES Hero's, have a destiny (stop Alduin), stray too much from that path and you may end up meeting some unpleasant surprises (like Alduin).
One thing I wouldn't mind doing is marrying Elisif. That way I can have the perks of royalty without being the top decision-maker. Those Nords have a problem with me being a Khajiit? Tell it to my wife, the High Queen! And besides, Elisif is quite attractive.
No on topic, but did you read the uncensored Real Barensiah? Can't help but feel a little sorry for Elisif :p
As for marriage – yep, a Consort Dragonborn will be quite a catch. Someone is having a problem with Elisif? Tell it to her husband, the Dragonborn! Who needs army? Pffft, bring it on!
If they will step away., another civil war? The DB ended the last civil war mostly by him/her-self.
And I am sure that at least Elisif might step away and give the throne to the one that killed Ulfric. Or share the kingship.
I am sure there is allot of people that would support the dragonborn to be king.
What guild would go agains it? The Bards meaby? I dont know really what the dark brotherhood might do. But being the leader of the guild might help convince them.
Your alternative seems tempting altrought,
I fully agree with that :) ,
I am a bit disapointed that the battles isnt biger, My dragonborn sometimes take on 100 thalmor soldiers just for fun.
And DB got a smal personal army, his houskarls, and his stewards if they got anny skills, Not to mention two dragons at his commands.
I really like the way that cat is thinking ^^
Actually, what are the perks of being a royalty?
Having a royal guard meaby? Lots of money, a castle.
Thinking of that, my DB allready have all those. :)
Exactly :))) Being a ruler is just another responsibility and let's face it - below your pay-grade. But you can help Elisif if that is you desire ;)
hmm, thats right, but it feels a bit ungreatefull when they dont give recognition to the dragonborn, just do that do that, heres a penny for your trubble.
