steal 500 gold in goods from raven's rock

I have done this but Delvin refuses to acknoledge my master theivery. no one sees me do anything and I have stolen a lot more than 500 golds worth of stuff. I need to know if there is anything I am doing wrong. I have well over 700 hours playee in the game, mulitiple characters. never had a problem before. this is my first time for any quests outside of SKYRIM. I steal and steal but I don't get my reward. any ideas on how to get delvin to accept the fact that I have done a job well done and to pay me. I will not quit the quest, NOT AN OPTION. I will kill every last thieves guild member if they do not wise up soon, I don't want to but will. please for the sake of the thieves guild and all the hard working theives out there help me out. please and thanks!

you can always drop that quest. You can pick up and drop a item muti time to count. you can get a solten ruby from somewhere else and drop and pick up for it count

I won't drop the quest but I will try the other suggestions you made. I had not thought of bring stolen goods from somewhere else and restealing them.

I brought a 900 gold worth and dropped the two items and restole them and nothing. any other ideas?

If that didnt work get out mr console out and advance the quest to next stage.

Thieves Guild radiant quests were never intended to run outside of the 5 major hold capitals. The Unofficial Skyrim Patch restricts them so that they won't be spawned to run on Solstheim (where they don't work) or in any other town or village (where they still won't work).

In the meantime, you'll have to go back and tell Delvin you want to abandon that job and get him to give you another.

That is interesting. I was given the same quest and found I could not even find anywhere to steal that amount. I was virtually told that because I had done so much for Raven Rock I could have what I wanted. When I returned I went back and told Delvin I did not want the quest.

why did they make it for the game if it can't be completed? I may just attack the thieves guild and stay out on my own.. thanks to all for the knowledge.

All you need to do for Delvin Is 5 jobs in Whiterun,Markarth,Windhelm,Solitude. Forget about Raven Rock. Easy as pie with this mod..Localized Guild jobs..you can choose your location.

thanks to all who replied. in the interest of moving the game along I just told Delvin that the next quest he gives me better be legit and he had better not EVER do that ♥♥♥♥ again. he gave me some attitude and then I demanded my next job. all seems to be going well right now. what he doesn't understand is after I combine the dark brotherhood and thieves guiilds into one I am going to kill him. ALL FEAR THE DRAGONBORN!

I just had a pickpocket quest in Raven Rock, didn't work. I drop it with delvin. I get another quest, this time, steal 500- I'm a heroine in Raven Rock, but a keen eye finds 500-worth quickly, I have at least double that amount stolen (no drop/pick it up tricks etc), but it never acknowledges the amount met and to return to the guild. 2 Raven Rocks back to back, if they're not going to work, why send us on broken quests Bethesda?! I hate quitting jobs. (Sorry, I'm done ranting :) ).

**Update: I quit it, then my next job is right back at Raven Rock lol- forget him! I've done -more than several for him, and Vex but she doesn't send me there, so far.

Sometimes they work, sometimes not. YOu can always drop them, the jobs are endless. I don't see it as a big deal, a bit annoying tho from time to time, but it's a minute part of my game.
