Can't you forge your own Dawnguard weapons and armor?

I downloaded Dawnguard a while ago but didn't start playing it until resently cause I wanted to get other quests out of the way. I see there are a lot of new items that dont exist in the basic game. I'm just the type that likes to make all the stuff I use. Is there a way to forge Dawnguard items?

That's a very reasonable thing for a player-written mod to do.
