After finishing diplomatic immunity all stuff gone?

All the stuff I was told would be kept safe is not in any of the chests in the inn keepers room or secret room.... its all gone...... is there a way for me to fix this? I had some essential quest items in there and won't be able to move on in the main storyline without them.

Essential quest item can not be taken out of your inventory, check, bet you still have them. as far as any other you had taken for safe keeping should in the chest on the left side of the secret room. I bet you do not have the unoffical patchs for your game, do you.

can you not load back to one of your previous saves and put all of your important items into a different chest at like your house or something?

I'm scared to use nexus since I have to put them in myself and not being tech savvy would rather not be one of those ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ who completely wrecks their game messing around so no I don't have the patch. If you say I still have the essential quest items I'll just deal with the loss of everything else.

Did you pick up your items inside the Thalmor embassy, and its just the remaining items that are missing? Or all your items? if all then just after the diversion in the party, and you get taken through the kitchen in the pantry, there is a chest with all your item, except the ones Delphine took. Those should be in the room in Delphine's inn. Go back a save just before the party, run through the quest again. If you didn't save much, a valuable lesson has been learned.

nah I picked up my stuff.... otherwise how would I have gotten through the quest without dying to that lovely icetroll?
