got it more or less fixed. It just randomly decided to work.
Nexus mods through NMM also can be ticked off in plugin page or deactived in mod page.
Remember any save game that have these mods will still show if you start from a save.
If you have just started the game remove all saves (ESC button and in load there is an exit( to remove saves) or from C: drive). Play through Helgen and save then reactive a mod or two and play from save if OK exit game and add a couple more and repeat process until all are on, then play and save.
Read the description modders put out there prior downloading.
If you want UFO (more followers) you must deactive all followers and companion mods before putting this mod on, play game and save then re add those other mods. If not many problems.
If i'm reading this right, then i can see what the first problem was. If i'm correct, then you FIRST installed SFO and later, when you wanted to remove it, you installed Nexus Mod Manager and just used that for removing/uninstalling the SFO mod.
When you use NMM to install a mod, it remembers what files are replaced. That is a very important part about modding. You tried to let the NMM do something that it just can't do right. There are some files that are "replaced" by installing SFO and you never got them back in place. That makes a game crash.
If you ever feel that there is something wrong again in your game, first try to let Steam check if your game is correct.
From the Steam support files:
All operating systems - Verify integrity of game cache
Load Steam
From the Library section, right-click on the game and select Properties from the menu.
Select the Local files tab and click the Verify integrity of game cache... button.
Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
Once the process is completed, the Check Window will automatically exit.
Happy gaming!!
