Keeping your horse from attacking
Is there any way to stop your horse from running right into a group of enemies every time I attack someone?

Even when I get off the horse quite far away from the enemies, then sneak up to them and try to shoot them sneakily with arrows, my horse will always run up to them and start attacking them. As soon as I've shot one arrow and the enemy's life bar shows up on top, the horse always charges into the enemies, which of course ruins any chance of me killing them stealthily.

Oh, and btw, this is what happens when a giant kills you because your damn horse charged at him and you have to do the same to stop him from killing your horse even though you wanted to kill him stealthily:

download the convenient (<--spelling?) horses mod and then you can change how the horse acts.

In the vanilla game, no, outside of just not using horses.

There are several mods that accomplish this though. I use Amazing Follower Tweaks, which has an option to make horses oblivious (passive). There's one called Oblivious Horses which keeps horses from attacking and keeps them from being attacked and Convenient Horses which does a complete overhaul of the horses.

All of those (and many more) are available on Nexus, not sure about the Workshop.

A great mod in my opinion. I highly recommend. And yes you can change the settings for the horse to act more naturally and not attack. This won't affect any horses parked at stables though who will attack predators if they are attacked (which is probably what you'd want).

Also with Convenient Horses you can have your follower follow you on horseback, you don't have to assign them a horse, they just summon one of their own choice. :) A really nice feature.

You can get it at Nexus Skyrim mods here but if it's a large file (I can't remember) you might have to join for a small fee to download it. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/14950/?

Maiq finds this one troublesome. The best horses are ones that are not real horses

That this one knows of.

But the horses of darkness tend to be best for M'aiq. Shadowmere, Arvak, Katy Perry... oh wait. that last one... not so much
Best way i found to make my horse not attacking was: open console, select the horse then type: setav confidence 0 then he/she runs away at any danger.. can also use: setav aggression 0 together... Then it will be all peaceful.
