Karstaag Skull......
Has anyone placed the Karstaag Skull on the throne in the Solstheim cave to the north and killed the giant that is conjured? Throwing everything i have at him with two helpers and i am hardly touching his health....

HAHA! Pretty much what i was like wonder what you get when you defeat him....

Yes, I beat it tonight on Legendary. It was a good fight.

You get to summon him three times (total) while outdoors.

Kind of a weak reward for the difficulty of the event imo.

what lvl? gear? weapons? poisions? follower/followers? troll? doggie? give us some context! i wanna know how to beat his giant ghost ass

Lvl 68, custom ranged gear, no poisons, Lydia follower.

I took him on as a pure mage. There is a spot by the entrance that you can jump up on to keep out of the way. Then I summoned dremora to distract him and then peppered him with my bound bow. He's immune/resistant to shock, frost, poison, paralysis and illusion. But does have a slight weakness to poison. Don't get close to him, stay away, he has a blizzard cloak effect.

He's the toughest fight in the entire game.

Oh, ya, there's a way to cheese it by getting on top of the edge or something... he and his minions can't hit you.

But, I didn't bother with that (why would you? Not much enjoyment in beating it that way). I stayed on ground level keeping my distance.

As far as the toughest fight... I'm not sure. Yes, if you try to melee, it can be stupidly tough, because of his local frost AOE, but as long as you adjust your tactics to the situation, it's not that bad. ... The final event with Miraak can be stupidly tough too. But, if you know what you're doing and are properly prepared for it, no problem.

That Karstaag is one tough hombre. Never had a fight quite as tough as that one.

He's not immune to illusion, so the hard part of the fight for my illusionist was the tag-teaming of the dragons. He was quite a bit tougher for my conjurer though, since you can't summon anything during the fight.

The only way I could defeat this guy is with a high level 40+, lots of deadly poison, a really good follower for distraction, the best daedric or dragon heavy armor with two enchantments of health, a dragonbone bow also heavily enchanted, lots of health potions (you'll need them), doge and run a lot, and finally you might want to drop dificulty down to novice.

This was the only way I could defeat this bastard without using tgm.

I managed to beat him yesterday.

First I start off with an invisible 30x backstab, then I switched swords for shield bash->stagger->hit, repeat and lots of stamina potions to keep the the staggers coming. (similar to how I handle dragons minus the backstab)

He only managed to spawn those annoying ice wraiths.

On one of my attempts, he managed to ragdoll me right out of the courtyard and into the water on the north side, and yet I somehow survived. I was surprised the courtyard wasn't considered an interior area.

Damn, made a home-run out of the ballpark hit on that one, didn't he.

just did karstaag. he is totally easy. just check the walls in the courtyard. there is at least 1 place in the east where you can jump up a few rocks. if you're up there he will never target you. just stay up there and pew pew him with fire spells

Use any high level armor/weapons. If you have 100 in smithing and enchanting and a crap ton of potions then he's just like a slightly harder dragon.

100 in 2 handed and 100 in enchanting worked. Doing around 200 damage a hit and with 650 armour I beat the thing without cheating on normal.
