Hi res texture pack + mods?
I have Skrim installed with close to 300 mods installed. A lot of which are graphic mods. I only recently noticed theres an official texture pack available as DLC. Should I download it or not? My Skyrim looks decent enough already and I don't wan to have to reconfigure all my mods again. Any suggestions?

if its not broke, then don`t fix it

If your talking about the 3 skyrim textures then dont bother downloading them as you won`t see much of an inprovement,

Do you have the Skyrim HD texture pack from Nexus ,much much better.

Unless you've used a bash patch to combine some of those mods you'll be having issues as the mod limit for Skyrim (without bash patches) is 255 mods.

Also, if you're running texture packs then there's no need to have them as the textures included will probably overwrite the textures that you have already downloaded.

Cheers guys. I never bothered using Nexus although I probably should of. I basically just started installing them through STEAM and enabled them one by one. The ones that crashed on startup I deleted. I installed all the towns upgrades and textures for grass, snow, water, etc, Weather mods and lighting. I just checked and quite a lot of them I installed are weapons, quests and follower mods. It runs fine the way it is. It slowed down once during a dragon fight when I cast armageddon but I had about 5 followers with loads of NPC's running about aswell.

It looks a hell of a lot better than vanilla so I'll just leave it. I never meant to install so many mods but I got carried away. Once I hity play it takes close to a minute to startup but seems to run fine to my eyes. I should run fraps and check what fps im getting. I'm only using a GTX650 with 8gb of ram.

Would I be better off deleting them all and using NEXUS?

I checked and I have 252 mods with about 20 unchecked on startup. I'm running on high not ultra.

Damn thats a lot of MODs... ><
Why would anyone use that many mods anyways, game looks pretty already!

The DLC is only 1k textures, I'm assuming if you have 3rd party mods they're 2-4k. So no, you're probably good :)

Graphics wise I never installed that many. Most of em are followers, weapons & armour & additional quests. I was trying to keep the core experience of Skyrim. I think the town overhauls make the place look a lot nicer to be honest. So does the snow, grass & water textures & lighting.

Sadly, your textures are the ugliest part of those screens.

The first two pics are the only ones with any mods on. The others only had followers. Ive only tried playing on high and it looks better than it did previously and runs just as good
