CAN'T REMEMBER or FIND my old follower.

Guys, I have come back to the game after not playing it for quite a while. I have no idea who my follower was when I stopped playing about a year ago. Now I'm looking all over Shyrim for my old follower. I have checked every old follower I could remember and they all tell me I already have a follower, so I know they are still out there and still connected to me. I'm stuck without a follower until I somehow locate the follower I still have out there somewhere! LOL

There is probably a simple solution but I haven't found it yet.

I would appreciate any helpful suggestions.

do you have a save where you had your follower.

I lost serina and it was a bugger looking for her, all followers should return to there place od origin after 3 days

Fast travelling should bring your follower near you, unless you have speficially told him/her to wait somewhere else.

They won't wait forever, though. If they are waiting, few ingame days should prompt the information about your follower going to home.

Fast travel will make your follower appear next to you.

If it doesn't work, your game is possibly bugged. If you remembered your follower's name, you could teleport him near you, but since you don't seem to remember his/her name, sounds like you're in a bit of a pickle.

I think if you just wait it will come if not it will eventually go back to original place and u can pick them back up there.

I had to reinstall the game after switching to a new hard drive. I will check the saves and see if they go back far enough. I'm assuming all of that information was lost with my old hard drive, unless it would still be held online in Steam which I doubt.

I have been fast traveling all over Skyrim searching for my follower. I may have told him to wait as Ref suggests but as you say he shouldn't wait forever but after several days playing he's still out ther and preventing me from getting a new follower. I just want to get rid of the old follower at this point. I have another follower I intend to invite when possible.

Guys, thanks for the input I was able to solve the problem with one command. I went into the console as you suggested and entered this command and it fixed it instantly.

set playerfollowercount to 0

I was standing next to the npc I wanted as a new follower when I entered the command. When I ivited the new follower he accepted with no problem!!
