Badges, How do they work??

Been on steam for quite some time, decided to finally start collecting those badge things, how do i even go about crafting them?

I'm starting now too, so been reading around. Just what i've seen is that you get a certain number of badges (usually half the total) from buying and playing the game. The rest you have to find and purchase from the market. Once you get a full set you can craft the badge for the game.

Yeah , the tradin cards are dropped in-game (approx half the total to get a badge). Then you can swap/trade with others to get a full set (if you don't get a set dropped in a booster pack). Once you have the fill set of cards you can craft a badge. It's the gameification of Steam.
