Elder Knowledge bug, I have the elder scroll already from dawnguard, yet it wont register it.

I'm having a issue here, I have done the Dawn Guard quest line long ago, and have the dragon scroll. I decided to finally do the main quest, which I have avoided doing. I got up to the part where I was supposed to find the dragon scroll, which I had. The quest marker kept sending me to the colledge of winterhold, I already did that quest of course. I tried reading the scroll right in front of Partheux or whatever his name is, that did not work though. Any fixes? I'm level 34

Did you read the correct scroll in the Time Wound? It's the part with the anomaly.

was it because it was not in my inventory whent he quest started?

You don't really read it infront of him. You read it while you're in the thing right in the middle.

actually, You get the scroll, it registers the end of that quest. Then it starts the next quest, and thats when you read it

Welp, that was embarassing. Okay let's go over from the top just to be absolutely sure I am right this time.

- You have done a part of Discerning the Transmundane as part of Scroll Scouting in Dawnguard.
- You have finished Dawnguard.
- You never sold the Dragon Scroll or you sold the scroll to Urag.

Fast forward
- You are doing the Main Quest
- You met Parthy in the quest "Throat of the World"
- Ol' Parthy asks you to find an Elder Scroll hence starting the Elder Knowledge quest.
- You already have an Elder Scroll in your possession.
- However despite your possession of the scroll, Elder Knowledge isn't marked complete and thus you can't continue to Alduin's Bane.

Am I correct so far? Also running any mods?

You just have to port the dragon scroll back in via CC command. It is what I had to do. I had the EXACT same bug. Open CC and type either "help scroll" or "help dragon" or if there is a more relevant search option, use it, been a bit since I had this and don't remember exactly. Look for the dragon scroll ID number. Then player.additem xxxxxxxxx 1. But regardless, there will be more than one type of dragon scroll that you can CC into your inventory, so make sure you get the right one. I guarantee you it will fix your issue.

That actually worked thank you, I think the bug was caused because Dawnguard changes the id for the scroll, I guess it forgot to turn it back
