Does clavicus vile actually end the war or give you superpowers?
I gave the guy his dog and his axe after asking for an end to the civil war but I don't think anything has happened, unless I'm supposed to end it with the mask he gave me or something.

To be fair for Clavicus, he does call you out if you ask for even more power. It seems that the Daedric Prince of Wishes and Bargains has more standards than you.
