How did you change your timescale? If you use Skytweak it should display it in its MCM.

Or you could just check the time, count to ten and see how many in game minutes pass.

opened the console and typed in, set timescale to 10 , then press enter. i just don't remember what to type in to CHECK the timescale of the game to see if it reset to 10

show timescale

Note: if you are using a timescale mod you may (should!) find that the timescale is still 20 in some areas (like Riverwood and Solitude) because some quests get bugged if it is not.

Why do you change it? Does that make the day/night longer or shorter?

The default of 20 means that 1 min of real times equals 20 min of game time. With a mod like Realistic Needs and Diseases the default timescale results in needing to eat food too frequently (for some people anyways).

The needs mods I've seen can have the rates adjusted within themselves.

I was thinking it might be vampire related. One of the things that bugs me about being vampire is trying to get from place to place before daylight comes.

Could you not have just reissued the command again 'set timescale to 10' to ensure that it was indeed at 10? Or were you just not sure if it was actually "taking" when you issued it?

6 is my favorite timescale, and also has been shown to be the lowest "safe" setting for changing the timescale to.
