Talking to Delphine after slaying Sahloknir and absorbing his soul may not trigger the quest update.

Using the console command setstage MQ106 155 can correct this. Follow up with setstage MQ106 160 if that fails to work.

OP does own the game.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why Unofficial Patches or recommended console commands can not help here.

It does imply that something is interfering with executable, but it might be a mod or broken master file as well.

Let's check latter one. This should take less than 10 minutes.

- Exit Steam.
- Go to Steam folder and remove folder named appcache
- Close your computer. Let it shut down and stat it.

- Start Steam. It will now load a bit, while inspecting your installed games.
- From Steam client Libary view, right click the game.
- Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Cache...

* 1 file will always fail to validate. It is related to how Steam detects your graphic card configurations and does not have any effect to your game.

I do noth honestly think that thid fixes the problem, but unless some mod is interfering with scripts, I see no reason why patches and/or console would not fix this either. Thus, it is best to make sure that files are intact - despite that this feels a bit longshot.

If this does fix the problem, then we can all be positively surprised. :)

And start this quest again? Or from last save?
