Skyrim was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b) (Solved)
I bought skyrim when he was on sale like 2 days ago. Whenever I wanted to play it, this error appears.

I looked on the internet, did alot of things to repair this error.

The list of what I did :

- Reinstall c++
- Reinstall all the DirectX
- aio runtime program
- Run this program as an administrator
- Replacing dll files with Dll files Fixer program
- Reinstall the game 3 times
- Etc, I did all the stuff that I found

I'm new to PC gaming, I build my PC 2 weeks ago. I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit, My drivers are up to date.

Some people are having this problem because they have mods problem, but I just bought the game and I don't have mods, so I don't know what to do.

Thank you in advance.

P.S. : Sorry for bad English.

steam does not work correctly with windows 64 bit, i had the same problem a few weeks ago, so i switched to 32 bit, and steam in general works way better, but my game still crasses on startup. maybe because of mods installed(even tho only 48) or 32 bit. but not sure.

Steam runs fine in 64 bit. 32 bit programs just get padded if ran on 64 bit os. You need to run steam in admin mode and game too.

This may solve your problem by re-installing the "Microsoft Visual C + +",

I reinstalled Microsoft visual C++ 5 times.

The 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, and 2013.

I have tried everything to get Skyrim working...

Had error (0xc000007b) and found that uninstalling the VC++ 2012 runtime package and then re-installing by either running the vcredist.exe or d/l from MS was most reliable. Namely, for some, it will avoid permission issues when over-writing files. As you have a fresh install perhaps run sfc /scannow to verify the integrity of your system files.
You may always run depends.exe (dependency walker) to verify your runtime install is correct for skyrim.

Did not work for me, but thanks for the reply.

P.S : I can totally run the game I have a fx8320 (3.5) and a gtx 760, so I'm very disappointed that the game doesn't start.

I recall similar case. It was fixed, once player reinstalled .NET Framework. I am unsure if this happened with Win 8 though; I admit not being too familiar with it.

If you have indeed installed .NET framework, and not only VC++, then this is a though one. I really can't figure out what would cause this error.

It's 01:53 and I just came home from a bar. I will try to think something tomorrow, but now I will just tell you that your problem has not been forgotten and bumb this a bit, so that peoples with sharper minds may take a look at this problem.
