Light Armor Warrior?
So I prefer the look of Light Armor compared to most heavy armor and I was wondering if a light armor warrior is viable?

I've got 400+ Hours of playtime and I've done stealth characters galore and was wondering if I'll just be getting one shotted if I try to straight up fight someone while wearing light armor.

Also yes, I'm aware in the late game with high enough smithing anything reaches the armor cap I was talking more specifically about the early game.

Yep, just level up smithing, and jump around everywhere.

So... I won't die if they can't catch me?
I'm like a stealth character but without the stealth

I like it

Combine it with a mod that adds new spells, and well yeah you won't be hit that much.

kind of better. light armour perks are super useful, heavy not so much.

Check out the mod "Reinforced Clothing". I like it because it gives better protection early game.
Plus I don't really like any of the light armors.

As long as you don't play in master/legendary or with mods that increase the number of spawns, you should be fine solo as a light armor warrior.

Good to hear, I was worried this was going to turn into Bandits one-shotting me the game. I had enough of that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with the bandit thugs in normal gameplay

If light armour is your thing then there is nothing better than leather armour, which I prefer.

While I did eventually make a Dragonscale set I ended up using the normal Vampire armour in preference. Using Lydia as a tank and with conjuration of a fire atronach you can always fall back or <ahem> run away until you heal yourself and let the others take the brunt of battle.

After all, how many Generals do you see in the front line?

lol its funny I prefer heavy armor dor the protecting and 2 handed swords for the damage for fighting up close but my favorite attack is to stealth in and long shot as many as I can with a bow before the rest find me. can you imagine how hard it is being sneaky in heavy armor

Light Armor is definitely viable in the early game. There is a hidden armor rating so the difference in ratings between steel and leather is not as great as it may seem. Add in the Lord Stone and you're fine.

But the major advantages to light armor are stealth and weight. You can sneak around and take out foes one at a time instead of alerting the whole dungeon to your presence, and you can haul much more loot back home. If you're not dumping tons of points into Stamina, it's pretty easy to max out your encumbrance early on with heavy armor.

In terms of perks, definitely go for the bonuses due to matching set and stuff like that. Looking at the perk tree, you can save one perk going up the light armor side of Smithing (until the very end with dragon armor), whereas heavy armor smiths have to go to the light side to make Nord Plate. But on the other hand a heavy armor dude can easily level up Dwarven armor to the level cap (with the perk you get in Unfathomable Depths).

p.s. Having played both heavy armor and light armor types (and just-clothes mages), I can definitely say to use whatever you prefer.
