Having quite a bit of difficulty in Mzulft Oculory (solved)

How do you "turn the light on" for the Oculory. I have placed the crystal to be focused, and I have spoken with the guy, but the light will not come on for me to focus it. What am I doing wrong? I've tried waiting for daytime hours, but that doesn't help either. I'm so frustrated that I'm about to rage quit. Can anyone help me please???

I have found the console workaround, so as much as I hate to do it, I'm skipping that part.

If haven't got spells, two books near the buttons, fire and ice at crystal.

I was using the fire and ice spells. The problem was the light was not coming from the ceiling. I've past that part now, thanks though.
