Gamma problem
This is what it looks like:

I've no idea why this happened. I have not installed any mods recently (unless I've been modding while asleep). All I did was open up the skyrimprefs.ini file because I thought I hadn't changed some shadow settings (it turns out I already had done that). Went into the game, everything looked fine. Then I went into a cave and noticed there was something wrong with the gamma (I don't know what to call it). What I've tried so far:

Removed the .ini files (skyrimprefs, skyrim & renderinfo) to allow Skyrim to create new ones with the default settings
Updated to the latest Nvidia driver (clean install)
Reverted back to an older savefile to see if this problem was savefile related
Restarted my PC

EDIT: updated screenshot

Not quite sure what you're saying, the first picture is completely black the other looks fine apart for from 3/4 being black...

if you're saying interiors are too dark you can up the gamma if you want its in SkyrimPrefs.ini

[Display]

fGamma=0.8400

etc. Up the value to make it brighter. Default is 1.000 iirc. Are you using any lighting mods? Because they typically make interiors dark. Very dark.
On my screen, the first screenshot seems to have the gamma turned up too much. The thing is, I have not turned up the gamma anywhere. Not Windows and not Skyrim. That's why I don't understand why this is happening. And before you ask, yes I've tried to calibrate colors in Windows control panel, gamma set to default and still the same. In the skyrimprefs.ini gamma is set to default (1.000). I've also reset my monitor's settings several times, didn't solve it.

Gid you install a mod that makes dungeons darker... have you tried a torch?
Yes I did, Climates of Tamriel, but that more than six months ago ago. I haven't ran into this problem until now. When using a torch (only in dark places) it looks like there's a bright filter of some sort, I don't know how else to describe it. It kind of looks like what happens when you've turned up the contrast too much.
