Clear the Forsworn from Kolskeggr mine glitch?
I've cleared the Forsworn from Kolskeggr mine twice now. I say twice because I resurrected all of the Forsworn I'd wasted and wasted them all again. Why? Because the miscellaneous quest is still not yet completed. I've been all over the mountainside, too. I even looked inside Pavo's house. No other Forsworn are anywhere to be seen. Does anyone know to properly complete this little side quest? Have I overlooked something?

I don't remember who gave me the quest in the first place.

I think the person who gave the quest is someone near Markarth near another mine, before the stables.

Yeah, I'm watching a YouTube walkthrough video now.

It was Skaggi Scar-Face who gave the quest to me, but when I went to speak with him about it, the only thing I could say to him was, "Do you own this mine?".
Grogu Nov 12, 2014 @ 7:52pm
Well you can speak to that guy or Pavo Attius to start the quest, but you need to speak to Pavo to complete it.

Damn it all. I found Pavo alive and well inside the barracks at the Left Hand mine, but the only thing I could say to him was the same thing I said to Skaggi: "Do you own this mine?". I have no idea where those other Forsworn could be, but I have already gone through Kolskeggr mine several times now.

Anyway, thank you for trying to help. I do appreciate it.

Have you tried reloading a save from before you first went to the mine and used console commands?
Grogu Nov 12, 2014 @ 9:52pm
Go into the mine and type killall into console and see if it kills anyone you may have missed.

Otherwise you may have to use setstage to advance the quest.

Try this in console

setstage FreeformKolskeggrA 10

You might also be able to wait for the mine to respawn enemies and try to complete the quest at that time.

The most recent REAL save I had was all the way back to last June, which was five months ago. I saved it after I'd just gone to Sovngarde looking to find Kodlak Whitemane. I almost always exclusively rely on auto and quick saves.

Well, the killall command *did* work on Shadowmere. :\

But when I went back in the mine and executed the command again, there was no change.

Thank you for those hints, but the bodies of the dead Forsworn I'd wasted are nowhere to be found inside Kolskeggr mine. I tried your suggestion regarding the setstage FreeformKolskeggrA 10 command, and when it did not immediately do anything, I went outside and waited for 25 hours. Then, when I went back inside the mine, nothing had changed. No Forsworn, living or dead, no finished side quest achivement, and nothing to say to Pavo. I suppose I should wait longer next time. Hell, I'm already prepared to give up on this little side quest altogether, even though I really don't want to. I hate leaving things unfinished. It just irks me.

That not being written in the past tense doesn't bode well for the future. ;)

Why should it have been written in the past tense? I occasionally save a game in an available game slot, so I wasn't trying to say that I've sworn off slot saving altogether. How should I have phrased the question?

[Edit]: I know you were being funny, but if I fouled up what I was trying to say, then I need to know where I fouled up so I won't do it again. ;)

On a semi-unrelated note, do you happen to use the Unofficial Patches? Because Kolskeggr mine also has another issue with the Forsworn respawning when you "cleared it".
