Flawless Sapphires?
I got two characters, one level 80 and one 26. In all my time playing Skyrim I have NEVER come across Flawless Sapphires. I'm trying to complete this quest for that Argonian in Riften. Where in oblivion can I find these?

I wanted to get my pickpocket up so I went on a little pickpocket raid on everyone I could find and I know for a fact I have pickpocketed several of them. Try pickpocketing you may be suprised at what you find
Some of you keep suggesting the Wikias, but as I said earlier I have lost faith in it as literally all locations it state where I can find these sapphires have turned out to be worthless stuff like a regular ruby. Spent literally hours going between mines and it only give me amethysts, and sometimes a regular sapphire. I'm still to do the Korvanjund quest so I'll give that a try and see what I can dig up.
I remember one place, from wiki, its in markarth inside the temple of dibella, near a book shelf somewhere in the main hall.. Just note its gonna be 'stolen' so keep your head down when grabbing this one.

Yeah, that present me with a problem, I wouldn't steal one. :P

Ok, in Korvanjund, 03 is the crypt, which is toward the end at the word wall. In the big room, with the word wall at the end, there are two different ancient nord pots up high on ledges. They're both on your left, as you're facing the word wall. You'll need to jump, climb, or something to reach them, but each of them has some gems in it, and it looks like a sword and a spell book. There should be a flawless sapphire and a flawless amethyst, in addition to some others.

Korvanjund 02 is the mid section, before you get into the crypts. It has one of those offshoots to a boobytrapped chest. There should be an amethyst laying next to the chest.
Well if u dont want to use wiki for some reason and u dont want to use console command and u dont want to steal it and u dont have stones of berenziah perk i guess it leaves random loot.

In fact, im also in the middle of this quest, as i got one of them sapphires but i aint looking for the other, im just doing other quests and waiting till i'll stumble upon the next sapphire.

If I may give you guys an interesting solution?

I have often promoted Complete Crafting Overhaul - Remade (+ some of it's sister mods), because it fixes several missing, bugged or problematic features from the game. As it happens, the mod called JewelCraft was fully integrated with it. It comes an optional feature that can be activated from CCOR MCM.

Now that I am more comfortable with it, I would not remove JewelCraft from my game. It does not only allow us to work with new types of jewels, but with precious stones as well. I have often made my own stones, when needed something for the gameplay (if I had stones and skills to do so.)

I will link CCOR below as a recommended download. It changes few crafting list in a way that may make the smithing a bit hard for peoples accustomed with the old recipes but I personally prefer these changes.

Most important change would be that 1 steel ingot no longer goes 1 iron + 1 corundum ore -ratio, but 5 iron ore +3 charcoal - ratio. It gets less overwhelming, if you activate the feature to smelt down weapons and armor.

Those unwilling to overhaul their crafting (although I still highly recommend doing that), here is the original mod and explanation of it's features can be found from here.

Note that you really only need either one to work with jewels and stones. If you download JewelCraft now, but decide to go with CCOR later, then uninstalling JC and activating it from CCOR MCM is recommended.

I found one in Korvanjund just above the throne in the final stafe of the crypt in a bowl. Now I just need one more.

I had one already when I got that quest, and then I thought about checking every vendor to get others, not because I thought it was rare but just a part of me wanted to finish up the quest faster. However, I wasn't as consistent with shopping as I thought I would be. Eventually, I found 2 more from doing additional quests around the map.

The link I posted is different tham the wikia. It's much more accurate and thurough.

Also, Harvest Overhaul has an option to adjust the drop rate of gems in coin purses.

There are 2 guaranteed locations. One in the temple of dibella in markarth and the other one in the ruin in the first stormcloak/imperial mission (have to use the shout in order to get it, look online for more specific details). These are the two locations I try to visit as soon as possible whenever I start a new game as my favorite sword Azurbrand requires them XD

Freddie, there's a second bowl with more gems, on the same side.
