Flawless Sapphires?

I got two characters, one level 80 and one 26. In all my time playing Skyrim I have NEVER come across Flawless Sapphires. I'm trying to complete this quest for that Argonian in Riften. Where in oblivion can I find these?

Sapphires? I thought it was 3 flawless Amethest

You can find gems by mining by 10% chance or buying from merchant but easy way is just check locations on wikia Fixed locations [elderscrolls.wikia.com]

I think I ended up having to buy them from vendors.

If you remember which, please do let me know. I have tried going between vendors without any luck, and the fixed Wikia locations is a lie 50% of the time.

They show up, but they are leveled and very rare. I've eventually got them on all my characters, but it took a very long time. They are random drops off of mining, but if you mined all the good spots at lower levels you might never see them if you don't let the ore respawn.

Prowler's Profit FTW - honestly, with my last character I set aside a hundred of each gem type in a jewelry box because, well, nobody has enough coin to buy them (and, alright, I go through phases of being a bit of a magpie) and, besides, what did I need cash for? I was so rich it was quite ridiculous. :-)

Assassins have them once you are higher level. I got 3 off assassins and 1 from mining. And if you do the Aetherium missions then the dwarven chest at the end has 2.

I usually come out of the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller quest with a couple of one or the other, (sapphires or amethysts). You might try running back through there.

To answer Perpetual's question, the Argonian in the Bee n Barb needs amethysts for his wedding band. The Argonian jeweler outside, near the smithy, needs sapphires for his jewelry work.

I just looked them up in ck. Most uses are in leveled lists and random loot, so I can't pinpoint those for you, but there are a couple of cells listed which, if I'm correct, will contain the gems.

Flawless Sapphire:

Markarth Temple Inner Sanctum
Korvanjund03 (I have no idea where 01, 02, 03 begin and end, but Korvanjund...)

Flawless Amethyst:

Tundra -11, -2
Wilderness -1, 11
Blind Cliff Cave Ext -35, 6
Markarth Temple Inner Sanctum
Dustman's Cairn
Skuldafn
Korvanjund02
Korvanjund03
Mercer Frey House

* The exterior locations can be reached with the cow command, which teleports you to a grid
intersection in the exterior world.

Couldnt you just additem in console if its that hard to find ? If you've already spent so much time looking for it to no avail. Might as well give up and get it easier.

That'll be cause a problem with omnipotency with games such as Scribblenauts. I mean with a swish of my hand, I and now conjure a delicious grilled Feta-Mozzie cheese sandwich in the shape of Mike Angel's David but if I can keep doing it that grileld sandwich has no meaning compared to me getting up from my comfy chair to go slice some bread and search my fridge for some Cheddar only to learn that I;m out and I have to go buy more Cheddar then come home and grill that sandwich. It tastes better.

Flawless Sapphires are pretty rare compared to the rest of the flawless gems. I only have 4 of them in my gem stash compared to 10-20 of the rest. I just can't remember where I got them. I tend to run into every cave and ruin I come across quest or not. Is there a flawless diamond?
