Following Random NPC's, Where do they go!
Intro: I remember the days of playing TES Oblivion on Xbox 360 and how after completing a quest many of the associated NPC's magically disappeared after they left the room or the quest completed, always wondering if and when they'd turn up again so when the devs touted that all (or most) NPC's both quest related and random i.e NPC's joining the legion/stormcloaks would never despawn until death, I had to test this myself, and I was very pleased though I was always curious where some of them ended up!

One that stands out the most to me is the Whiterun guards at the western watchtower you have 5 the lone surviving guard at the watchtower (he is the one that exits it at the begining) then the 4 with Irileth, I decided to follow the lone surviving Guard and found that he goes as far as Valthem Towers either being killed by the bandits or the wolves.

Has anyone else done this and if so who did you follow and how far did you follow them?

Have i got a story for you m8!

Well this was when i first started playing skyrim (sadly it was pirated because i am too poor to afford it :''( |) I started to follow irileth for about two days skyrim and fiqured out who she was exactly she went from place to place and she often went to the local meadry where she danced and danced, then i got hearthfire and found a little glitch: if you have a musician in your house and bring a guest (follower) he/she will started dancing with a cup in their hand , basically this cup magically apears in their hands :D

I sometimes follow the random encounter "friendlies" I meet on the road. Like the suck up and his wife on their way to the wedding in Solitude. I like to use them to grind a little sneak, or just wait until some hostile encounter kills them(read as: kite a bear/sabercat to them) so I can loot the corpses. Same with the prisoner transfer groups.

Most of the 'townsfolk' have boring daily loops they follow.

this is what CS tag and track mod is perfect for

you can keep track of them without actually following but every once in a while it is nice to escort merchants personally.

I once followed the guy from the house of horrors when I released him. he did a complete circle around the map and end up what would have been 5 minutes away if he turned left instead of right.

I do that. Just the joy of walking while I can.

most of the time he is in the same place as the dibella girl so I can kill 2 birds at once. I fast travel with her home to see her parents and then on to the temple.
this time he was at a forsworn camp so i could follow him .
it isn't right to travel the roads with a young child who screams at every dead body. OMG is she annoying. btw same reaction to her father dead as anyone else

Just got that random "Frightened Woman" encounter(blah blah, hostage, blah blah where's town), right next to Dragonsreach(huge castle towering above us). So I follow her. She runs right past the Whiterun front gate, to Pelagia Farm, and just stands there staring at the windmill.
