Jarl Of Ivarstead Mod ... When do I play it?
Hi Everyone ... a little advice please.

I've just added the mod Jarl Of Ivarstead to my ever growing collection of mods but I'm wondering at what point would the community recommend I start to play it.

I'm only level 25 and haven't really started any of the main quests (a couple of Winterhold quests and the Whiterun quest up until the 1st dragon kill).
2 reasons for this ..... I was enjoying learning this game as it's the first game of this kind I've played and I'm rubbish at the jumping and killing (I run around in circles trying to hit someone whilst my followers do all the work) ..... and I thought I'd build a great collection of mods and make sure the game stayed stable (I went a bit crazy on day 1 and had a game that kept crashing so started again).

I've enjoyed the crafting and collecting (Example= Smithing Lvl 60, Magic etc about Lvl 20) but I'm ready to get started now.

So ..... This Jarl mod interests me as I'd enjoy the creating of my own land as oppossed to hack and slash.

When should I start the Jarl quest?
Should I get into the main quests and complete them first or play them alongside this mod.
I have the legendary edition (all the DLC's) and this is also my first playthrough so I'm interested in the opinions of this community as to how to proceed.

And one last question ... As I've not chosen a side in the civil war yet .... would you recommend that I load that Civil War Overhaul mod or play the original.

I do hope you can help me ... I've only owned the game just over a month and I'm very very new to this modding mularky (in my late 50's).
Please be nice to each other in the comments ... I don't want to start a row
Peace and Love
Alan

I've had the mod active for quite a long time now , maybe 250 hours , and enjoy it , your level is just fine , i would say level 15 and ubove for the mod to be safe , as for most mods . There are some things that could be difficult but ok for most people . The mod can run along side of the normal game quests , have fun and keep your people happy !

Thanks .... but will affect others reactions to me as I enter new cities.
So far I've just been to Whiterun and Winterhold .... and I've got my hunters cabin near Riverwood.

I would reccomend progressing through the storyline until you are asked to pass through Ivarstead in order to travel up the mountain to speak with the Greybeards at High Hrothgar, after passing through that part of the main storyline I would say would be a good time to explore the mod.

Just a bit of fair warning, my past expriences with the Jarl of Ivarstead have not been great, I often get a lot of obstacles(i.e mountains) blocking neccesary places needed to access in order to progress the questline. The mod author has abandoned the mod as well and I am unaware if anyone has picked it back up or if he returned. Everyone has different expierences with mods however I still encourage you play it and hope you do not run into the same issues I[did. Best of Luck and happy gaming.

Thank you Madafudger ... I've taken your advice and I'm finally off to see the Greybeards.
I've just done a save as I've reached Ivarstead but ....

I experienced a lot of lag as i entered the town .... got about 1 frame every 5 secs for a minute or 2. This is the 1st time this has happened ...... is this normal??
