How to install HDT High Heel System?
Hey guys.
Wanted to make my female NPCs look a bit nicer so I tried to install HDT High Heel System (Version beta 0.5 on nexusmods). However my game will immediately crash before even reaching the main menu.
Requires SKSE 1.6.sth+. I got 1.07.01 so that aint the problem.
Requires SkyUI 3.0+. Got 4.1 so it's not that either.
There should be a couple of pics on the mods page @ nexus... Unfortunately they seem to be broken. Don't even know whether they are about the installation or about sth else.

So now I hope one of you guys has already installed this mod and made it work. If so... Please tell me how ^^

there's another mod that needs to be installed first

You need to install this mod first- HDT physics extentions v 14.28, it's under the category for PATCHES, then install the heel mod.

i might have jumped the gun, i cheched mod page, have you checked the MCM menu for the mod, it always takes time for new MCM menu to register in the game

^^ I stumbled upon the physics extensions about 30 sec after I posted this xD
However... installed that now via NMM, tried to reinstall the high heel system, the game still crashes. NMM sometimes even crashes upon the installation or uninstallation of this mod. kinda weird...

Wait a sec... I have to seperately install the MCM Menu for a specific mod? o.O
I thought it does that automatically with installing the mod itself...

Check the MCM, you might have to turn it on. Whenever you install a mod that requires SkyUI and SKSE there's always a MCM menu for you to tweak the mod with.

Ahh... No ^^ Unfortunately that wont work. I can't get to the MCM settings if the game crashes before even reaching the main menu ^^

LOOT?
Ilja Jun 8, 2015 @ 3:36am
Do you mean that it crashes after Bethesda logo? If so, BloodFireIce already gave a good advice. Here is more, if LOOT does not fix it for you.

Update your SKSE to 1.7.2. Mods supporting HDT and character creation (XPMSE, RaceMenu for starters) require the updated version.

Sounds like you have loaded the actual heel (shoe) mod before the hdt hh system itself. Make sure hdt is near the top.

Well, guess I got it to work now though I cannot say which step exactly made it work.
I think I installed a total of 3, maybe even 4 (dunno if Racemenu had its own too) skeletons now (ECE, UNP, XPMS) with XPMS being the last one cuz one mod claimed that skeleton to be essential.
However I also think that the HDT PE NMM installer did not work correctly. I used a manuel download and installation for that one now and it worked afterwards.

I tried the manuel installation before too though...
So I guess it needed either XPMS itself or one of the mods that XPMS requires to work.

HDT High Heels seems to work correctly and I got no crash as of yet.

Anyway. Problem solved. I hope it will help others with a similar problem.

And btw... Yes. Ofc I used LOOT, as well as FNIS. I run both of them after every mod installation just to be sure.

That's skyrim's way of ♥♥♥♥♥ slapping you for wanting women in medieval era type fantasy game to wear the most impracticle footwear ever even by todays standards.

I recommend moving to Groovtama's XPMSE version. It was designed to work with HDT that XPMS was not. Both mods are available from the same site in Nexus.

ECE and RaceMenu are not really compatible. More importantly, with SKSE 1.7.2, RaceMenu 3 and XPMSE, you can do everything you could with ECE and a lot more. This includes morphing cheeks that was probably the main reason to use ECE in the first place. I recommend that you try skipping ECE entirely and go with RaceMenu.

I posted this today to another thread, to display what can be done with RaceMenu 3 and CBBE.

Females used heels or pattens over shoes in medieval times. High heels are not by all means a modern invention
