Bouncing glitch with new GPU
Replaced old GTX 680 with GTX 980 and tested game and it seemed fine. Then started setting up 3D capability and now when I try to play Skyrim and I'm on my horse I'm suddenly bouncing up and down and the whole screen is shaking. I noticed other items shart shaking or quivering when I'm near them, i.e., pie on a table. Animal NPCs also bouncing up and down several feet off the ground. Anyone else experiences this?

It probably has to do with your FPS.

The game doesn't do well with over 60 FPS. Your old card probably couldn't maintain over 60 FPS so you never had a problem, but now your FPS is too high and the game engine has problems. Try to cap your FPS at 60 using a lower refresh rate or using vsync and triple buffering.

Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Vsync might be an option in NVIDIA Control Panel if your card uses it.
Also if you are using ENB, Vsync is a parameter in enblocal.ini
EnableVSync=true

There is a guide to the ini settings on a website somewhere (the STEP site I think)
There are some gpu memory settings in enblocal.ini as well.

Changing vsync might foul up 3D (I'd be interested in knowing whether it does or not)

Well, I tried reducing the FPS and refresh rate and that didn't do it. If I stay off my horse, the glitch isn't too noticeable. I realize now that my problems started after I started, but didn't complete, the 3D setup. I checked the game before I started the setup, then got back into the game before fully completing them, so I'll finish that and see if it clears up the problem. Interestingly, the STALKER games all run well both before and after I initiated the 3D setup, and those games are notoriously quirky. Also, lots of fun. Thanks for your suggestion, guys.

Try going to the Nvidia control panel.
Go to 'Manage 3D settings', then click 'Global Settings' and then find and click 'Max Frame Rate'.
Click 'on' and set the max FPS to 59.
I hope this works for those of you who use Nvidia.

For others that find this thread when searching for 'skyrim why am I bouncing' or 'why is my horse bouncing'.

This is due to your ugridstoload setting to show more detail landscape in the distance. In both Oblivion AND Skyrim increasing this setting is NOT supported and WILL cause crashes, corruption, quest errors/misfires/failures and yes, bouncing.

Reset your ugrids to load to default and START A NEW GAME - the damage of having this setting at a higher-than-supported number is baked into your save and can't be removed.
