Bizzare ending to main quest.
Anyone who has completed the main quest will understand what I mean. Therefor I will not put anyspoilers in.

There was no kind of acknowlegment like there was atfer completing the main quest in Oblivion. No kind of thanks or reward. Or at least I did not see any.

It feels unfinished. Not a polished ending like in Oblivion.

I still have plenty to do. I am kind of loosing enthusiasm though. I had been for about the last ten hours. Things to finish are stuff like:

I need to collect the last arethium shard. (However there is no quest marker for it.)
I only just joined the Legion so I have all but three of their quests to do.
I didn't do any of the thieves guild stuff about the 'Unusual Gems'. I have collected about twelve on my journey.
A few quests where it asks you to decide weird stuff. Like who to trust over the Redguard woman you meet at the Whiterun inn.

Maybe I will just tail off in iterest to finish it. I did with Oblivion, but then I did tidy up most of the side quests there. I think I could have found a few more had I looked. Only I lost the exciting relationship I had with Oblivion once it's main quest was finished. No idea why, but I think it's because the main quest got intense. Plus I was shutting down lots of gates and the whole thing just felt cool.

its a world where eating salt makes ya purple, the people are starved of basic nutrients and all go wild and become bandits. dont expect kudos's from dem

I think Skyrim's biggest flaw is the fact that a lot of what you do doesn't matter. You may end a civil war and save the world from being destroyed by a legendary dragon/prophecy, but their is no incentive for it. No one cares that you are the Dragonborn or of what you've done. Because this is Bethesda's new formula; to make a game with barely any closure but to give you enough stuff to keep you busy even after you have finished the primary objective of the game. Skyrim isn't story driven, it is world driven, so do not expect to feel you have completed the game by finished the main questline.

Can't even loot him after the fight :(

Agreed. I havn't done the civil war part yet, since I only just joined the Legion. I put it off because it was so unclear which side is the most moral. The Legion throughout Morrowind and Oblivion were champions though so I sided that way. However I joined only literally about an hours play before I ended the main quest.

I suppose Skyrim still needs sorting out, and my character seems very over-powered so I can do it easy. I barely used any perks on spells. I concentrated on bows and armour. Consequently nearly every fight is easy. One two or three arrows and it's done. Even the basic dragons are three arrows only.

I reckon the best quests are the Dragon Priest ones.

So did you join the: Thieves Guild, the Dark Brotherhood, the Companions, the College of Winterhold? Did you feast on the dead, acquire Dawnbreaker, Azura Star, got the white vial and so on? Did you do the main quest only?
Tiny Trees Jun 3, 2015 @ 1:11am
Didn't:
Join Thieves Guild yet, (But have collected about twelve Unusual Gems.
Join Dark Brotherhood. (Didn't even know they were in this game - haha.)
Feast on the Dead.
Don't remember Dawnbreaker.

Did:
Join Companions (but stopped at the night meeting where you become a werewolf).
Get Azura Star
College of Winterhold and finished it
Remember the White Vial.

I did lots of side quests. I stopped and talked to civilain NPC's everywhere to try get them.

well, its unfinished cuz YOU GOTTA DO DRAGONBORN, thats right, doing the dragonborn DLC actually explains a lot and gives the game a proper ending, or so I think.
SpeedFreak1972 Jun 3, 2015 @ 2:33am
Well it isn't really an ending, because you don't have to do it after defeating Alduin .....

I know, but it still feels like a polished ending, defeating the first dragonborn.

Yeh I forgot to mention I did Dragonborn and Dawnguard. I am not sure I entirley completed Dragonborn, because I didn't like it. I got all the books. However going back and doing all the side quests in Solsteim, I lost interest. It nearly broke my playing of Skyrim completely, because Raven rock is just plain ugly. I hated being around there.

Danwgueard keep giving out side quests. They are literally go to a cave and kill three enemies. Return get another.

My plan was to tidy up all the side quests I have. Then go visting every place on the map and talk to all NPCs in search of new side quests.

Just hang out at the northern half. It's easier on the eyes. I know what you mean, I have hyper-sensitive eyes, and after being in Raven Rock for more than a few minutes, I get a headache. Literally.

Personally, I think the "scenes" are quite bad, the gameplay is fun, but the "scenes" don't even make me feel as if they want me to feel. Like in the beginning when that guy from Rorikstead tries to run away, but archers kill him along the way, I didn't really even get any sort of, well, anything from it.

"I'm running away! (Arrow in the back) *plop* "anyone else feel like running?"
Me: "uh... am I supposed to feel intimidated?"

And other parts of the game also are kinda like

"Oh man I hate you so much can't wait for revenge!" *Swing sword* "OH YEAH GOT REVENGE!"

I just think that the "scenes" need more, um, something to it, just don't know how to describe it. I think the part when the dragon (not saying name in case of spoiler) came was quite good, there was reaction, panic started, etc.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good game, it's just that the game needs that "oomph" to it, y'know?

I agree 100% ... I feel this game falls flat on its pretty face due to this lack of polish.

There is a ton of stuff to find and explore, finding and riding rapids is one of my newish hobbies. The graphics are stunning...

But the presentation just falls flat... ghosts that, are just kind of there.. then not
No real opening .. the start of Oblivion was epic..Skyrim was nothing.. fade in from black.
Played with and without DLC.. without DLC it was even worse, they did add some effects or improve effects for some things with the DLC.. but overall the endings of quests are uninspired.. even most of the quests themselves are uninspired. Just lacking in some dynamic quality.

With Oblivion I only finished the main quest once, after that I left the gates opening for the sigil stones

Closing the gates in Oblivion is a great example though... when you take the stone the whole trippy flame thing.. In Skyrim I get the impression you would just be back in Skyrim from Oblivion with a message like "added sigil stone" and that's it. To Skyrims credit the burning dragon soul absorb thing is cool when it doesn't glitch.

You "finish" the main quest in Sovngarde, where there is no one but the dead see you. You get a wrap-up on the Throat of the World, where no one but dragons see you. You're heroism was offstage, so don't be surprised if people aren't kissing your feet because they're too busy still fighting the dragons that are still terrorizing the land.

You DO get acknowledgement. The Greybeards praise you. The Blades praise you. And they're essentially the only ones who know what you did. In some way you get more acknowledgement than the Nerevarine ever did.
